CH-53E Transport Helicopter Data

Post by skypig53 »

Quick question on the Weapons Data for the CH-53E Super Stallion Transport Helicopter. The CH-53E is not specifically listed in the weapons data in my Modern Micro Armor book. There are 2 variants of the CH-53B "Sea Stallion" (one of which can apparently deliver ordinance) and a CH-53D "Super Stallion". I'm confused because the CH-53D is actually the "Sea Stallion", and the CH-53E is the only "Super Stallion", trust me on this one. So my question is, where can I get the data for the "Echo" "Super Stallion" model? Also why is the "Bravo" the only one capable of offense, as far as I know 53 series helos have a defensive capablility via crew served weapons in the crew windows (and one one the ramp of "E" models). OK so it wasn't a quick question....questions, sue me.

thanks, but what i really need to know is the data as it pertains to micro armor. The speed and cargo capacity should be greatly increased as compared to the "B" and "D" series, as well as the CH-47D Chinook.. The extra engine and beefed up tranny on the "E" atleast doubles the payload over the latter models and it is capable of speeds in excess of 150 kts which is pretty darn fast compared to any helicopter, much less a transport. I guess I could just make up my own data and base it off of the "D" model. I guess I could get by with any old numbers for any other piece of gear but the 53E is my baby so I get a little fired up when It doesn't get a fair shake.

On another note, has anyone ever considered the external transport of cargo via transport helos in their games. I know the rules say helos can only carry troops and light guns but in real world a 53E can deliver an M198 tube or 2 humvees (simultaneously). Back in the eighties we could haul an LAV-25. It would definately add alot as far as manuever around the battlefield. Just a thought.
