Aside from GHQ, I'm also in to...

In the Growing the Hobby thread a couple of fellas have posted a few pics of other minis they paint, outside the realm of micro-armour. I think that's a great idea. So as not to hijack that thread, I thought it might be neat to start one dedicated to pics of other types and scales of minis that we collect and paint.

So, for starters, here is a rather dark photograph of my Helm's Deep setup in 10mm. All the minis are by Mark Copplestone. The actual fortress and ladders in the background are card models of my own design. For scale, the round bases are 1" fender washers.

Well, you know how GHQ had Crusaders on special last month?

I've always had a soft spot for that tank. One of the coolest looking vehicles ever made, in my book. Of course, it is no great comfort to be running them on a battleboard, but they surely LOOK nice.

But when I paint up a Crusader, it comes out just a bit different.

Here, for example, is a Crusader, Mk 1:

Its just a toy-store soft plastic knight, 1/35th scale. Painted up for my then-8-year-old son. I wanted him to have some items to "add character" when we go to the beach and he builds a sand castle.

While I know these are not anything to do with war, these are things I paint and sell privately. They are for a game call Subbuteo, a table soccer game, which is something our American cousens on this site might not be to aware of.

I paint them, add numbers and club badges using transparent waterslide paper, make a box for them, then sell them on to whoever wants them. Usually on eBay, but I also do special requests for anyone who wants their favorate team.

The pictures are of the following teams:

Vancouver Whitecaps

The Allied team from the Movie Escape To Victory

The German Team from the same film.

and a group of other teams such as, Arsenal 1938, Fulham 2005, Leeds United 1938, and Bishop Auckland 2005.

They are certainly different, to the usual things we see on this forum, which is why I thought I would post these pictures.

Reguards to all,
