No company appears to have the model of the Caterpillar D9 tractor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caterpillar_D9), preferably the militarized version. This is used by the US (http://www.enr.com/features/bizlabor/ar ... 030922.asp) or Israel (http://www.israeli-weapons.com/weapons/ ... 9_D10.html)

The up armored Zelda/M113 would also be good.

JB,

Well, at least you said trumpets instead of strumpets...

While it's true that a PzKw IV or StuG company nominally had 22 vehicles they really only counted on having 14 or 15. With Panthers it was probably less. One extra is handy for a higher HQ or artillery observer.

I'm more 'concerned' (not the right word but...) about the combined packs. The LVTP-7 is probably the worst case. I'm finding myself in need of a bunch of SdKfz-223s. They're the 'other' armoured car in the Sd-222 pack, but I don't need 4x 222s for every 223! More like two for every three -221. When the time comes I will give the nice people at GHQ a call and see what they can do for a dozen of them.

FWIW

in the past couple of posts there has been mention of the 'unemployed' officers and allusions to equipment as well, so what if;

1. your LGS had people interested in swaps?

2. maybe we could have a new section to the board for members to swap extras or to add extra sculptures for their units?

being a newbie to the forum I don't know the history of what's been tried etc, but I have noticed that there are similar sections on other sites.

My 2 cents on swaps. I've done it. I've solicited for swaps on these pages but my latest thinking is that it probably isn't in GHQ's best interest to support that on this site. They do sell single units/sprues direct to you if that's what you need (although at a significant mark up for the special handling required) and swapping would tend to cut into that market.

While I don't think its appropriate to dedicate a special section to swapping I think its perfectly legitimate to contact someone by PM or email if they say they have something extra you might be interested in. Or if you have extras you could start a thread that asks for opinions like "What do I do with 12 extra officer figures". While you're reading through someone's suggestion to make a diarama depicting the officers on a shooting range or whatever someone else might contact you offline to see if you would like to trade for a half dozen M-114 APCs (sorry, couldn't find anything more useless).

How about Carro Comandos? At least you can put some troops in an APC!

As far as I know no 6mm manufacturer makes Finnish troops. So my wishlist includes regular infantry & officers, heavy weapons and artillery & crew. Of course, BT-42 would be nice.

EDIT: as stute readers probably have guessed from the BT-42 I do mean WWII troops.

Is there any more room for me on the Infantry bandwagon?

I could live with the limited Infantry poses and the current selection of WWII/Modern vehicles but would really like to see the Infantry expanded in the following areas: (I know there are some repeats..._

WWII Soviet Rifles...we can't all be micro-surgeons!
WWII Soviet Tank Riders.
WWII US , UK, Soviet, and German 81mm and 120 mm Mortars.
WWII US , UK, and Soviet Medium MGS with two crew members. Browning .30 cal in bipod and tripod versions, Vickers and Maxim.
WWII US Bazookas - maybe a 2 man crew... UK PIATS, Soviet ATRs.
Casuality figures - at this scale maybe one size fits all? Great for marking pins!
WWII Radio crews - all nations
WWII Officers doing something other than pointing...

I am very happy with the ever expanding pool of minor nations modeled but these requests are, for the most part, basic models needed to game the major WWII powers WWII Infantry battles.

I have always looked longingly at the 15mm minis but to game at that scale, I simply do not have the space or money.

As menitonned above, light WWII recon airplane for artillery spotter from all sides will be fine and had a new dimension to the game.

great idea about the Storch et al.

and on the Soviet side of things what about;

1. a generic pack of women soldiers like for sniper duties, artillery crew etc

2. civillian survivors of Stalingrad (or other cities)

3. a dedicated KGB batallion (or maybe that is just a paint job?)

4. penal batallions?

do we have any feminists on the board? coz thems fighting words methinks!!!

seriously though, there were significant numbers of women around in front line fighting units and yes I do believe that there would be interesting modelling challenges for GHQ to create such a pack, still. it does give one time to think about conversions (no not transgenders!) that we could do.

I've seen a couple of "seige of Berlin" figure sets which included Hitler youth, old men with muskets, moms with shotguns, etc. That would be a pretty neat kit to use in a number of scenarios, both modern and WWI, WWII.

Of course, the figs I saw were 1/72 so I don't know how they would look in micro scale.

I think some Vietnam helicopter ,dismounted crewmembers would be excellant.
Also dismounted armour crewman,of most nations...
Also some partisans would be cool.
I remember reading about "Armies" of these people
I just saw a movie the other night "Come and see" it is a Russian movie set in Belorus 1943. It was about Partisans and the "Nazi SD",can't call these guys Germans,it would be unfair to the real Germans...
