Hi All
Well im trying to work out a balanced set of forces for MA WW II that can introduce players to the game.
I have a time frame of 1942 in mind Germany Vs Soviet, and looking at tanks to start with the first order then add infantry ect.
But here is where im stuck what to use. I have the GHQ rules set will start with that, thinking two Battalions of Tanks a side should work. I understand the organisations and i have looked over a really good website that details the Battalions ect, but stuck what to use as i want to avoid a one sided battle.
If you can offer any assistance i would greatly appreciate this
Thanks in advance

1942 East Front
Well, there are several things going on. Coming out of winter, there is 1) a battle for Kharkov, followed by the 2) German Blue offensive, followed by 3) massive tank battle at Voronezh, followed by 4) crossing of the Don, 5) the Stalingrad battle, 6) the Russian counteroffensive, 7) the German relief offensive. Lots of tanks in all of these actions
If you want to get newbies into it, you really should have some Tigers around. 1942 offers the perfect opportunity. Play the 503 Tiger battalion in late 1942 trying to hold back the collapsing southern front. The 503 was underequipped with Tigers, & filled the void with IIIN's. Russians would have the T-34/76, KV1s, & SU122 just showing up in small numbers. Panzer Divs would have IIIJ/L, IVF1/F2, 38t's being phased out, IIF's in real short supply. StugIIID/F are also present. Lend lease would include Matildas, Valentines, Stuarts, Lees.
Is this helping you?

Just love those crusaders (Might not perform well but there damn ** CENSORED **)
I see GHQ has a 41 British and German force but i want to start into 42 maybe i should start with those and build from there.
Thanks for the input

...in my 15mm colection I have a MKIV F2 platoon that is painted DAK yellow. It was used almost exclusively on the eastern front...DrBig wrote:Well, many of the Panzers in 1942 Russia were painted in DAK colors anyway. Go ahead & paint up your DAK force, then you can decide at the last minute wheter to go Med. or East.
I've read of many instances where these tanks were diverted away from Rommel due to the losses in the east.
