Hobby/Gaming Stores in DC Area

Post by cbovill »

I have to go to Vienna, VA in the DC area in a week or so for business, anyone know of any good Hobby/Gaming stores nearby, preferably that stock GHQ (since no one in Vegas does)?

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
Not much available in the DC area. There is the Game Parlor, actually two stores in the area, that carries a VERY limited amount of GHQ. I was just at the one in Chantilly (which would be closest to Vienna) today and they have 10-20 GHQ packs which all seemed to be WWII mostly Soviet stuff. They also had a couple of Micronauts (HMS Glorious and some modern subs and aircraft) that's it. I had a thread a wile back about the lack of retail support in this area and nothing nas changed. If there are other stores in the area I haven't found them.

There is Eagle and Empire, somewhere in the area. But even more limited items in stock (very limited). I went to the other store already mentioned in Chantilly a couple months ago, and found it worth the visit just to see all the goodies around the store.

But yes... not much in the area in general.

Yes, sorry I was focused on GHQ/microarmor because that's my interest. E&E is on Jefferson Davis Highway (IIRC) and has a good selection of FoW stuff among others but no GHQ that I've ever seen. Still its a good store for wargaming stuff.

Thanks for the info and I'll be sure and check out both places when I'm there. It's either that or sit in my hotel room renting movies for exhorbitantly high prices. For the price of one of these movies, I could buy a battleship!
