Hard to find minis
Hello all, new to the forum and this scale of gaming but hopefully I'm in the right place.
I am looking for micro armor scale minis of a HEMTT (dragon wagon) with the gooseneck low boy trailer and a D7 Cat dozer (or similar). I would also like to know where a good place is to find civilian vehicles as well. Any advice would be very appreciated.
*edit - email or pm me the site addresses as it is against forum rules to post them.
Also for anyone who bought the LCAC models, do you find that their sculpt is done well and are the Abrams aboard them separate models?

Which trailer are you looking for...?
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/pls.htm
Take a look at the site above. If the trailer you want is on that site, post a link and we can see if we can help you...
http://www.commandoperationscenter.com has some pictures in the OPS section (down at the bottom of the page to equipment) that may lead you where you need to go... There is some construction equipment available from other manufacturers that might work also...

1ComOpsCtr - Actually none of the ones on that site. When I was in the Corp we used a flatbed trailer with a gooseneck to load the D7 Bulldozers and other heavy gear. The trailer had civilian style dual tires and ramps on the back. The majority of the time when we loaded gear onto it the driver would connect the winch to the top of the gooseneck, unlock the gooseneck pins, then release the kingpin. Then he would slowly roll forward while letting out the winch, thus making the gooseneck into a heavier ramp we would use to load the dozers. Our unit always called the whole truck an LHS as the only ones our company had were the ones with that gooseneck type trailer. I have never seen the army or any other service have this type of trailer, they always seemed to have the taller flatbeds with the same type of tire as the truck itself.
Guess I might have to do some conversion work.

Found a picture of it after a ton of searching....

In the Corp we called it an LVS, I had never heard it called a HEMTT till I got out.

Take a look at the GHQ WW2 US Tank Transport...
I realize this is using a WW2 transport for a modern vehicle which is probably really too heavy for the trailer but it is all that was available, so we use several for our convoy training exercises...

Hope this helps...

I actually have one of what you're looking for but the cast is really horrible so its probably Skytrex of maybe H&R. I got it as part of an ebay deal but I would try their catalogs.

I'm not certain how accurate microform's models are but the 1/20 sedans and SUVs look perfect next to the GHQ models. For example, my insurgent collection includes both GHQ techincals and Microform SUVs and they look great. I think the 1/25 would be a too small, especially with respect to height (and wheel size!).Are the 1/20" scale about the same size as micro armor scale or would the 1/25" they have be a better fit? I don't like how the hood on those is slanted and very short, but I could probably fix that with a bit of putty.
The 1/20 bus and semi seem a very tiny bit big but they too look good next to GHQ HEMTT (I've used them together in convoy scenarios). And the aircraft looks nice next to the GHQ Osprey.
A few months ago when I started buying civilian vehicles I sampled a couple of mfgs and the Microform seem closest to GHQ's vehicles. I also learned to use the designated scale only as a rough guide since each mfg seems to have his own idea as to how big an inch is!
