Lynx Scout Car

Post by dougeagle »

In the Canadian WW2 supplement, it mentions the Lynx Scout Car for the Armoured Car Regiments. From what I can tell, these were just a modification of the Dingo. How different were the two vehicles?

dougeagle,

According to...

http://www.warwheels.net/DaimlerDingo2INDEX.html

...the two were pretty much the same vehicle. The Dingo was made in the UK and had a 6-cylinder Daimler engine. The Lynx was made in Canada, was about 20" longer and about a ton heavier, and had an 8-cylinder Ford engine.

Wikipedia.org notes that the Lynx was a derivative of the Dingo. It also notes that the Italian Autoblinda Lince (Lynx) was another derivative of the Dingo. This is according to...

Hope this helps!

Ah, good old wikipedia huh...LOL. Well, GHQ doesn't make the Lynx SC, so I guess the Dingo's will have to do for now.

Thanks.
