We had our first game on the 29th of December. We were both new at this so it didn't go quickly or smoothly. We had a lot of fun though. The high ground was in the middle of the battlefield and Kenn's Pershing platoon got there first. I had to cross a river with a bridge and a ford. I put the Panthers on overwatch while I prepared the mark IV's to cross the ford. I also sent my platoon of Tigers out across the bridge while prepping the mark IV's to follow. The Panthers and Pershings had a long distance duel and the Pershings lost 2 tanks. I also got one extremely lucky long distance hit on a Pershing with a mark IV!
Kenn got his easy 8's around the hill on the right flank and took the Tigers on from the side. I lost one immediately. There was another exchange between the Tigers and the Shermans and I ended up losing 3 more Tigers. At that point I had only one Tiger left over the river. Kenn lost 3 easy 8"s on the flank and we called the game a draw. I wasn't eager to send the mark IV's up the steep hill or on the road and he wasn't eager to top the rise with the rest of his Shermans. Whoever moved first was going to get slaughtered. We had a lot of fun, though.
