WIth the armed SdKfz 251 halftracks, does one use the seated troops or action posed Panzer Grenadiers to simulate firing crews (or the artillery firing troops). Also, for the Hummer. I am interested in setting up dioramas rather than playing wargames. I have not ever used GHQ terrain hexes and the textures to simulate grass, high grass, bush or trees not creeks, rivers or mountains. How should I start?
I know I am asking quite a lot. Basically, I have a German Schwere Panzer DIvision (a type that did not exist) consisting of all the larger types of German armor but I have Panzer Grenadier infantry as a key component. I also have buildings ranging from ruined factories to workers houses although no bridges as yet.
My dioramas will have simulated live fire and smoke produced on computer graphics and I do plan to show them. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Schwerepunkt
SdKfz 251/C 2 & 9 GHQ Stock # G104 and SdKfz 251/D 2 & 9 GHQ Stock # G125 come with crew figures, although when I bought the Combat Command Panzer Grenadier Company 1943-44 GHQ Stock # G158 it did not come with crew figures.
I don't know about the rest of the 251 line but GHQ can probably tell you if you call them.
Tactics are the opinion of the senior officer present.
My SdKfz models with the Pak75, 20mm et al did not have figures. I will ask GHQ if they can provide some (for a small fee) when I make my next order.
I have figured out that the hexes would work very well in setting up dioramas because all one has to do is turn them or move them to create new scenes, i.e. terrain features.
Thanks again.

Tom,
Thanks for the info. I have plenty of the passenger poses for my SdKfz 251/1s but did not know whether to use the gunnery figures for artillery to fit into the pak 50/gunned 251 series or the action posed Panzer Grenadiers.
I am advised that figures are provided with the gunned halftracks (and perhaps the FLAMM) as well.
I plan to use the last of my passenger troops to fill some of my 251s and put action figures into those closest to the action. I also have dismounted troops to show in action.
