Paint/Color Suggestions for Modern US and USSR subs?

I am told modern US subs, or at least the LA class, are a flat black. Sturgeon, I am clueless.

USSR era subs? Also clueless....

Any suggestions - color and brand - would be appreciated.....

The gun painters here will tell you not to use black because it's too dark - use a dark grey instead, or mix up your black with some white. You might find you need a lot of white to make much impression.

I've always used dark grey for my Soviets. Just cos.
