Campaign

Post by Dog Smack »

So a long time ago I purchased Combined Arms. I imagine most people here have either heard or played Combined Arms or Command Decision. In the back of CA there was a campaign game that centered around the Jutland Peninsula. This campaign always interested me as it is not the normal German plains/Fulda Gap type scenario. There are a lot of different nationalities and many different types of equipment available. But, it is a large campaign. I can't imagine actually playing something this large in a weekend.

So has anyone out there played this campaign or something similar in size and scope? I would be very interested in hearing your comments on such an endeavor.

Hi Dog Smack --

Its way more than just a weekend game. I've been playing (off and on for 6 months) a general WWIII-in-1989 campaign, with a heavy dose of Jutland, using Fist Full of TOWs. Its a big project -- I'm running the Jutland part of the campaign, another guy is running Dutch/Brits/Germans vs 3rd Shock etc to the south.

The original Combined Arms scenario is great, and served as the inspiration for the current effort. One thing we have now is way more info on the units involved (see my web page www.microarmormayhem.com for details), plus Google Earth for maps.

Of course, its easy to get distracted ... This last Friday we did Bulgarians vs Greeks & Italians.
