ATG Frontage...

Post by dougeagle »

Hey all,

Lately I have been pretty slack on working on my 6mm DAK and British forces up until last night when I got tired of painting endless French Napoleonic figures...so it was time for a change. Anyways...to the point. I'm working on the anti tank guns for both Germans and British and being that the scale is 1 stand= platoon, thus an ATG platoon would consist of 4-6 guns.

What I am wondering is how big that frontage would have been between each gun in the platoon? 100 yards...150 yards?

Yeah...nevermind...perhaps GHQ could remove this please :D

The distance/placement would be completely dependant on the threat and on the terrain (to cover all the likely avenues of approach; to best utilise available cover and elevations) and also the size of the front the platoon is made responsible for.

Take your most likely scenario and use that as a guide. But at least 100 yds if its the desert and you are not playing an El Alemein type encounter.
