C-130

Post by 7.62 »

I just picked up a few "F-TOYS" 1/300 scale C-130 Hercs on E-bay.
Anyone out there seen or have one?
The photos look good but I've never seen one.

I don't have the C-130 but I have a growing collection of their other products including the Japanese C-1 and I am very happy with the quality. I should be able to post some pictures of what I have tomorrow. Here in Japan they are something of what I call a "surprise" toy. By that I mean its a surprise which one of the six or seven aircraft in a given series is actually inside the box - which is why I have a growing collection. I was trying to buy a C-130 and I've ended up with a US and a JMSDF P2V Neptune maritime patrol aircraft in addition to two versions of the C-1. Not sure how I'll ever use those in a game but they are pretty cool. I don't know what you paid on ebay but they retail for between $3 -$4 in the local stores. Hope that helped.

You can purchase a ten-pak of the 1/300 2nd edition (I don't know what the first edition offers) for 4243 yen from one of the larger on line suppliers of the "F-Toys" which also offer 1/300 scale civilian aircraft in another of their "surprise" packages. AmiAmi has an on line shop that offers the 2nd edition collection. Will

They cost me $8.99 ea, I had seen the 8 packs (3xHerc,3xNeptune,2xP-3 Orion) for around $50 but I had not seen them sold as one off before so I'd grabbed a few.
Alot of the range go for $2-4 but the C-130 seem to be around $8-10.
Should be a nice addition if the photos are anything to go on.

Just a quick update on these F-toys C130.
At last a Herc that will not look out of place next to GHQ gear!
OK so it is 1/300 but the molding is great, doors, windows, pannels etc.
Gear up or down and comes nose weighted so it sit level out the box.

My painting will not do these models justice, I'm sure some of the regulars on this site will produce real works of art with this one.

I'll add the props and details this weekend.
They come with wing tanks but I just had to add a refuelling probe (my tanker program is on hold, lol).
I need a new camera  I'm told they now take electic pictures!
