Painting Micronauts : IJN Kako

If I may add a comment, it will be about how incredibly well GHQ minis take paint. I must say it took much less work, with comparabl results, than for other genres of miniatures.

Nice work.

Hope you don't mind if I link one of your pics (the final painted model, prior to basing) into this thread. We (meaning mostly I) just love seeing the work folks do painting up GHQ models.

If I would offer one comment, it is that I would love to see the photos under a bit better lighting. Might be achieved adjusting the light balance using photo software on the pics you already have. For future pics, I suggest a small (inexpensive and portable) incandescent reading lamp, which also tends to help on the hobby worktable. Or even better is indirect sunlight as the weather turns nice.

Anything that helps us see more of your beautiful work would be a good thing!

Nice work and painting. Only thing i do different and this is just me is i dont assembly my ships till all is painted. So much easier to paint turrets, briges, funnels and etc.. off the hull than once its all assembled. I then ink and dry brush after assemble. Just my two cents worth.

Thanks for the comment, I think your way is better actually, but it's just that I prefer to get all the parts assembled unpainted as, I think, it would be too hard for me to do so when painted.

Dont get me wrong there is still some touching up that goes on after i assemble the ship. But it really is much easier to paint the parts unassembled. Also i dont ink or drybrush till after all assemble is done. I will post some pictures on this thread so you can see some of my work. Like i tell my friends when they ask how to do painting and modeling is do what you feel comfortable with, and you will find out over time what works for you.

Indeed, I'm looking forward for seeing some of your work! Nicely painted minis, I can never see enough of them.
