Hello all.
Long time lurker first time poster.
I recently took advantage of the GHQ special on M1078 trucks and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on converting any of the GHQ canvas top trucks into flatbed/troop carrier versions.
I am debating cutting and trimming the canvas tops, making new side rails/bed out of sheet aluminum, some combination of the two, or continuing to look for better solutions.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Flat bed truck conversions.

I converted a couple to have just a flat bed or body and mounted a square scratchbuilt electronic shelter to serve as a CP vehicle for my scratchbuilt Q-37 radar section for my divisional TA battery.
Want to try the same thing with the 5 ton version to make an expando van for my DIVARTY HQ or Aviation Bde Hq .

Thanks that is a little different from what I am using and gave me ideas about the slats having openings.
(LINK removed see below)
The link above has like 20 HMMWV options and like 200 vehicles total.
GHQ you can consider it to be my wishlist
Eventually I would love to build all the options, but I am just getting started with making modifications.
