GEN22 Release

Post by Donald M. Scheef »

I just saw the announcement of release of GHQ’s Lützow. The description includes “Sister ships: Admiral Scheer and the Graf Spee.â€￾ It’s a bit puzzling that they say this because there were visible differences between the three ships and GHQ already makes separate models of the other two. They were more like cousins than sisters.

Despite this (and the fact that the Summer sale is over), I intend to get one of the Lützow and three of the Bretagne as soon as my discretionary spending account recovers from the large order I placed during the sale.

So where is the announcement? I can't find anything on the new items page, the relevant country pages or the micronauts pages... I want to see the LCT5!

They are in the new items but most of themhave no photos at the moment so you cannot see the LCT.5.

The ad for Lutzow doesn't talk of sisters. It seems correct to me.
Originally named the Deutschland. One of three ships total in the Deutschland class, along with Admiral Scheer and the Graf Spee.

GHQ changed the description of Lützow in their advert. The original I quoted was cut-and-paste from the GHQ site. The modified is as Tammy quoted.

As of today all the new items have got a photo.

In order to better appreciate the size of LCT-5 I would have liked a photo with a vehicles load (obviously with a note: vehicles not included).

Having painted the LCT-5 for the catalog, I can say it is a lot larger than the LCM. This one should hold 5 to 6 Sherman tanks but I did not actually put any vehicles inside to see how they fit.

Nominal capacity of a LCT-5 was 150 tons of vehicles. This would mean about five Sherman tanks at about 30 tons each, nine Stuart tanks at just over 15 tons each (although in this case, length x width might be more limiting than weight), or three Pershing tanks at about 46 tons each.

Would someone who has purchased the US155 model try fitting various tank models into the LCT-5 and report what the capacity is? Truck and artillery capacity would also be useful information.
