Would the Jagdpanzer E-75 have mounted a 128/55 or 128/61 for main armament? As the E-75 was to have mounted the 105/52, then the 128 would have been the next choice upward please let me know as this model is to be released at the end of October.
Thanks. Schwerepunkt
....as the E90 appears to be a myth (even more so than the others in the E Series), it is my understanding that the E100 Jagdpanzer would have mounted the 170mm/52, same as that carried on the Geschutzwagen fur Pzrkw VI, Ausf B. If that is not correct, please let me know.
The E-series would have been formidable fighting vehicles but the Soviets had a lead over the Germans and an overwhelming superiority over the Western Allies. In your opinion, what would have been the best Allied tank with which to meet the E-Series?
Well, it seems I have most of the Allied/Russian armor with which to take on the German E Series. Of course, the best weapon to engage huge German armored units would be tactical air power (P-51, P-47, Mosquitoes, Sturmoviks) and or artillery.
I think that Wehrmacht 47 assumes that German jet aircraft such as Me262 and Me234 would be available and with the Fritz X and other advanced weaponry could give quite a fight.
I always regarded the Walker Bulldog and M47/48 and inferior tanks, at least to the Russians and if the latter had come to the West, NATO would have been in a tough way.
I know the M60 was a big improvement and the M60A1 with the 105 was an excellent tank (witness the USMC at Beirut Int Airport).
Thank you for the information. I look forward to continuing my collection of the great fighting tanks of WW2 and postwar.
Easy to say, more difficult to do with the Me262 opposing the B29 strikes. But you diverge from the topic of armored conflict so it seems the Allies would have been equipped, especially with large numbers to have defeated the SS WM 47 units. However, with the additional technical advances achieved with the V2, it would not be out of the question for the Germans to have in their possession an atomic bomb.
