When we went to the field or NTC we assigned Medics to HHB and each firing battery. Usually 1-2 medics per btry and the rest at the BN aid station. If you were the lucky one to get assigned to bn aid you had litters to sleep on inside a GP small tent. If you were assigned to a firing btry good luck....either you had to have a pup tent (if you had time to even set them up) or usually you could pick a gun crew that would take care of the "doc"..... best times I had were when I was with a firing btry and usually #6 gun.....HQ btry was to brass heavy for me.....

Sorry, just got back to normal and am catching up with the forum.

Thanks to All for the many replies! As usual this website has plenty of people who not only were there but ready to share. Keeps the rest of us straight!! Always appreciated. I've gone back and added the Medical section(platoon, depending on time-frame). Also, thanks for the information on the 8" batteries. I didn't realize they remained in the 3x4 configuration. I thought they went to a 3x6. I guess I need to reduce that line, and the M-548's, on the order.

Cav Dog: I wish my scratch-building skills were that good. I stop at HO scale plastic locomotives and cars. Although, I'm seriously ready to try scratch-building some tractor-trailer van and fuel trailers and some HET's since it seems to appear that no one is interested in making any and I have a FSB that needs a bunch!
