Updated catalogue photos?

Post by Ducknucks »

Maybe I missed this earlier or maybe I'm imagining it but there seem to be some updated product photos in the online catalogue.

Ones I've spotted so far are the KV2, PZ38t, and the sdkfz 221 w/spzb 41.

Hi Ducknucks

You are correct. GHQ has been updating many of their older catalog photos with newer and hopefully better photos of their products.

I have provided some of my own models for this project, primarily WWII. The Sdkfz 221 w. Panzerbusche '41 and the Pz 38t are ones that I provided. The Pz 38t is one I did over 20 years ago. Some others have provided their models as well.

Updated Catalog Photos?

Post by pmskaar »

Hi Ducknucks

Thanks very much! GHQ has an ongoing project to update all their catalog photos over time.

I have done many models for the catalog, both new and older items. There are several others here that have contributed as well.

In my case, in addition to painting newer models as they are released, I have provided some of my own models for the folks at GHQ to photograph as they see fit. Some of my models, as in the case of the Pz 38t, go back to a long time ago when I was really just starting out. Others are of much more recent vintage. I will provide additional models as I complete them and if GHQ needs them.

If you are interested in what other items I have provided for the catalog, let me know via a private e-mail and I will get a list to you. If there is any additional interest out there, I would publish the list on the forum but it will be fairly lengthy.

Have a great day!

I appreciate the updated photos as much as everyone else. Now, if they would just put the right photo with the right model. :x

The photo for BB West Virginia STILL shows the updated BB California instead. :!:

Cama, you are actually an excellent painter in your own right and have contributed many fine models for the catalog.

Cama has done many of the modern vehicles that are shown in the catalog and his work is great.

I too have a small backlog of GHQ models that I am working on for the catalog but not the 39 that Cama has. That should keep you busy for a while .... Eh Cama?

Good Morning Comrades, Nice to see the sun coming up out of the east !. Just want to tell you comrades that the repainting and the larger photos are a lot better than the older photos. It gives you a better look the vehicles detail. It also so influences a second look and decision of weather a vehicle that you might have just shook off of your list, that you say I just might buy that vehicle . My hat off to all of you painting for GHQ. Well have a nice day. Later Comrades, Ivan 8)

Wow, Cama, that is quite a few modern Russians to paint. Are these all new items or are they items that have been previously featured in the catalog and are getting updates?

I really never get tired of painting Russians for some reason. Of course if you get tired of just basic "Russian Green" you can add the sand and black camo to the mix as well if the item is of more recent vintage.

Updated Catalog Photos

Post by pmskaar »

Hi Don

Just to let you know, I am working on a couple of the ships right now. Yesterday, I completed the Evarts and undercoated the Liao-Ning. I have had these on the workbench for a while now and have now put more effort into getting them done.

One of my other projects as I can fit it in, is to update some of the WWI and WWII ships as well I did finish the Warrior a while back which only had a black and white photo. There is lots to do here and hopefully someone will step up to do some of the Napoleonic ship line and some of the Modern ships as well. So much to do, so little time and all that.

Hi Cama

Of course, that is a an excellent option as well. You can do up quite a bit of Russian kit in various Middle Eastern paint schemes such as Egypt and Syria and Libya as well as many others. That should keep things interesting for a while. :)

Have a great day!

What is the process? Do you just paint away and then send pics to GHQ or do they contact you to commission the work? There are probably some here with the time and talent to pull it off but not the contact.

Hi, I thought I would add my 2p to this, I find the photos of unpainted models far better than the painted ones, I think GHQ models speak for themselves, so a pic of the bare lead, with everything thats in the pack eg 5 tanks etc is far better.
