What is it? Tiny German gun

Post by Extra Crispy »

I found a pack of infantry lurking. Contained within is a tiny gun. Wheeled, very short barrel. They come 2/sprue with separate kneeling crew. The catalog pics are no help....

I now think it's likely a 75mm Infantry Gun with Crew, based on this box art...

G56 Support Weapons. Why it's with the infantry instead of towed guns I don't know.
Proudly addicted to micro-armour since 1975.

It's probably with the infantry as the Germans assigned these out to infantry units rather that artillery batteries. It was one heavy duty support weapon!

The pack is a bit of a listings anomaly.
There are separate categories for towed artillery, and towed anti-tank.
This pack contains both types, so where does it go? Both perhaps?
OTOH, both guns were inherent to infantry formations, so I guess it makes sense.
Heck, under that theory, the 150mm sIG could be in the infantry list too.
:)
