Perhaps it's only my connection but GHQ is s...l...o.....w but it's the only site I've visited that is slow. Of course GHQ does seem pretty slow to me most of the time
Does it to you?

What browser are you using? Chrome seems to load the forum faster than Firefox. I don't use Explorer.
GHQ has always been slow to connect, I suspect because they have a small allocated bandwidth and a cheap server connection. Given the size of the company, completely understandable. They do have a bit more 'bloat' than their nearest rival, whose forum page opens faster.
The forum occasionally goes through slow periods, but this slowdown has been building for months. Maybe activity has moved to their Facebook page. As someone who refuses to use Facebook I cannot comment. It would be a massive shame if the Facebook page killed this forum, but I suspect cheaper for GHQ.

There is no right or wrong, only decisions and consequences.

GHQ slow
I have the same trouble : catalogue pictures very slow, shopping card slow, forum slow. It depend on the day time...
Early in the morning it's better for me (I use Firefox or Safari on Mac). but I got used to this situation.
Like you piersyf, I think it would be sad if the GHQ FB page killed this fantastic forum.
I hope it will still live again for a long time because it can't be substitute by only a "simple FB page"....
Maybe it's not easy for GHQ to have the time to find a solution to this trouble...
We have to continue to use this forum even if few slowness are still active. FB mustn't win !

I too have experienced this and in looking over the past times when it occurred I noted that it was worst at the end of May and just before Christmas.
My conclusion is that many of us keep checking in to see what the new releases are at the end of May and that we're all really just a bunch of kids in the GHQ candy store just before Christmas.
Now if they could just find a way to make a virtual glass counter that we could leave fingerprints on...
