Modern Naval: Any ideas on modern Naval warfare?
I am thinking of modern US and/or Japan vs. China.
East or South China Sea fight over some island.
So what should I get? For the US: New York, Freedom? Wasp? Arliegh Burke Flight IIA? Bunker Hill? CVN Roosevelt?
For Japan: Takanami? Hyuga?
For the UK: DDG Daring (Type 45) Class, 1 or 2?
What about China? Get one of each? or two of each of the DDG, FFG?
Liaoning, Jiangkia II (Ty54A) Class, Jiangwei II (Ty53H3), Jianghu V (Ty53H1G), Luda IV (Ty51DT). Taizhou Project 956EM?
There is more and more political pressure and military demonstration. Develop a Naval engagement, and if 'successful', landing force somewhere? Need to pick up some Type 99A1 and some other Chinese AFV!!
What ideas do you have. When GHQ comes out with the Indian T-90s, fight China, Pakastan?
Have you had a modern Egypt vs Isreal? Or Isreal vs Jordan (M1s), or Isreal vs Saudia Arabia?

Hi Chrisswim, since you've mentioned about Takanami class and Hyuga class, which are only available after 2000 and 2009 respectively, I guess you are referring to a conflict period after 2010. Except for Jiangkai II Type054A, your (or GHQ's) list for China Navy are inventories from the last century. I don't think US/Japan Navy will be up against these older generation boats in a major conflict but instead would be against Type 051C, Type 052C, Type 052D destroyers, plus numerous Type 056 corvettes and Type 022 missile boats. There are also underwater players, mainly the Kilo class, Type 039A and Type 039G subs.
