Wow!

That's some impressive stuff! Do you mean to say that you gamed the Betio invasion at
a 1-to-1 (man-to-man) unit scale?!?

Wow!

A very ambitious game set-up. Beautiful boards! Great great great!

(I'm running out of superlatives here, so be patient. Don't want to use up my ENTIRE
daily allotment of exclamation points in one posting! )

One suggestion, if I may. There are two pics in your posting that don't show. The
problem is that you have managed to double-type a bracket in both cases. The photo
link lines start with [img]] in both cases. If you use the edit function to go in
and delete one of those brackets on each of the links, we'll get to see two more of your
great pictures! And that would be a GOOD thing for us! 8)

Thanks for the heads up on that bad link, silly of me.
No actually I'm doing the invasion at the spearhead or CD level, however I figured before I Mounted the latest batch of Marines I would pose them for posterity.

Here's a few bases I made for straggler recovery points, little seawall vignettes. There will be one at each beach where stragglers can come in and reform into platoons.

And some of the enemy:
I have bunkers and positions

Here are dug in positions

And some Japanese ready to counterattack

During the battle there was a bombed out hulk offshore that the Japanese snuck out to and occupied:

Those casualty clearance points are really well done. Brings a certain reality to wargaming.

An idea for your antnnea, use tooth bruch bristles inked black or black thread painted black or gun-metal. More arrow, less dangerous, although not as tall.

Great terrain, really like the presentation, nice scale, and great feature with the destroyed hulk in the water.

Los,
Nice terrain, great features and design. Well done.
The bombed out hulk, is that representing one of the many concrete ships the Japanese used for transport/cargo? I just remember a picture of a ship beached that was a concrete ship.
Good looking terrain/island, love the sea wall.
