Limbered Soviet Zis-2/3 ?

Post by Extra Crispy »

I finished up my new ZIS2 and ZIS3 guns for my Flames of War game. At the moment to indicate they are limbered you just place a truck at the trail end of the stand. But I'm thinking I'd like some limbered guns to swap out when they move, but GHQ don't make them.

Suggestions?

You could just push the trails together. I'm not an expert but from pictures the mount doesn't look that complicated, the barrel doesn't traverse around like the (more) modern D-30. It should be pretty straight forward. I've done the same for some of my US M2A1 105s. I held the trail against the flat side of a no. 18 X-Acto knife blade and then carefully bent the trail at the mount until the two trails touched.

Doh!

I even have some leftover trails lying around. Will try that first!
