List of Out-of-Production WWII codes / models

Post by AJ at the Bank »

Is there a list of out of production WWII codes / models please?

I only buy GHQ (of course!) ...and have some German 75mm Infantry gun IG18s... and 37mm Pak 35/36s.....but these don't seem to be in the catalogue.

Any ideas anyone please?

Thanks
AJ

Here is a partial list. Most of these have been replaced with newer models or merged into assorted packs, but I didn’t copy this information.
US18 = Sherman with calliope
US25 = 76mm anti-tank gun
US25 = infantry
US31 = M5A1 light tank
US33 = M3 White scout car
US35 = M3 half-track with 75mm howitzer
US36 = M4A1 81mm mortar carrier

UK17 = M4A4 Sherman

G44 = Pz IVH
G45 = Wirbelwind

R09 = JS-1 heavy tank
R16 = infantry

Had to dig up my old catalogues for this; right now best I can find is 1973...
For a start-
G-11- This has always been the "Elefant", but the original model was replaced many years ago.
Like some others, they re-used the same number for the new one.
G-12- You are wrong on this one. Prior to G-54, there was no light 105mm howitzer.
This was actually the long Kanone-18 105mm gun.
G-21- I don't know where the 250mm part of this came from; maybe a miss-print somewhere, as this vehicle never carried one.
The original model had the same 150mm heavy howitzer (model 13) as the current one. It was available "way back", then gone untill replaced a few years ago.
A bit more, then have to run-
Italians-back in "73", the catalogue showed It-1 and 2- The M13/40 and M11/39 respectively.
In late "74", It-3 was added; listed as an L-3/33. It was the first item to be more than 5 per pack, being 7.
At some point, I don't remember when, that line was dropped and later(again I can't give a year) replaced by the current italian range.
The original french line(also in the "73" list) had similar history- Fr-1,2,3, and 4 were, respectively, the Char B, Lorraine carrier,S-35, and H-39.
That from memory; but I think I have them in correct order. All discontinued and replaced later by a new line...
I may still have my first catalogue somewhere, I started collecting in "69 or 70", but finding it's probably the only way I could tell...
Regards, Jim R.

Yeah I had that code.

Yeah, I just assumed it was the howitzer I really should have looked at the picture - the long barrel is rather obvious.

It's probably just a typo (of mine I mean)

The earliest catalogue I've got is a scan of the GHQ Fall '73 La Vivandiere.

Mortis57:
Interestingly, the oldest I can lay hands on currently is my copy of the first issue of "La Vivandiere", which is Fall 73.
I know I have some older GHQ mailers and the lists in the Alnavco catalogues, but they are buried deep in our attic, so well out of reach for now...
