Post by Tanker Mike »

Hi,

I tried doing a search on this but came up empty. Has any one done a Scratch Built German WWII 251 Half-track Cover or Tarp? I would like to model this but I can't quite fgure out a way to do so.

I have used spare tarps from US Jeeps as well as sdkfz 7s or 10s. Looks decent but had to trim them back.

Add some elmers glue to a warm bowl of water.
cut to shape and fit leaving a little extra from bathroom tissue .
fit carefully to model , dip brush in glue and water mixture gently coat tisue paper with brush
you can shape the tarp at this time. Let dry over night thentrim with hobby knife .
Take an old brush dip in undiluted white glue like elmers brush coat the tarp completly let dry.
it will be hard as a rock and permently attached to your model finished...mikey
