Poll/Nominations

Post by panzergator »

GHQ,

You were evidently pretty happy with your moderns nomination and vote. Perhaps future such polling could include WWII and by nation, as well. For instance, for WWII, I would like to see the US M6 heavy tank. And perhaps an experimental poll, so we could nominate things like MBT70, ARSV, etc. How well are the T95 and T30, both experimentals that never saw production, doing? I would think that modern wargamers would make hay with MBT70s.

So you are proposing not just one WWII topic per vote but one per country? Sounds intriguing but with every minor nation it could get too big and specialized fast. I like the idea just it has to be viable for GHQ. My guess is they will see how well the modern special sells first before they commit to a WWII offer. Just my two cents.

Just SUGGESTING some variations that MIGHT be considered, the idea being to generate more discussion on the forum and see what people are interested in...

I like that idea. I do think some stuff will be pretty obscure though. I'd like to have the vote after the new release list for next year comes out to avoid unnecessary debate.

What about voting on a master list of picks, and then doing a top three run off in a second and final vote?

My current top WW2 picks are:

Stowage/wheels/tracks - any/all nations
Opel Blitz bus - German
Engineer figures - any/all nations
Commandos - British
Ammunition trailers - German

Burt,

Ok, one variation would be for GHQ to list items in each category they consider to be the most viable for business, say be era and then by country, and have us vote from that list.

Another might be for GHQ to specify several countries and solicit nominations in those countries.

GHQ might ask for nominations for experimentals, modern or WWII that didn't reach production but might bring in viable business - MBT-70 immediately comes to mind. After all, there a at least three US vehicles in the '47 line that never went into production.

Perhaps we could nominate from three specified countries, WWII or modern.

With all the models GHQ currently makes, it would seem prudent to conduct some surveys for future products to be more certain of success.

I think a good place to start would be the suggestions swirling around now from the original thoughts threads plus the ones that came after. Personally I like the idea of the expanded Bersaglieri equipment, namely the motorcycle troops plus the tricycles and associated towed equipment. I would never have known about this before and now am very intrigued!

In the same vein the distinctive Polish motor cycle and side car units.

As a last idea how about protesters/ activists? I am thinking all those unarmed people carrying signs plus the black mask activists with the Molotov cocktails. If anything like this exists please send me in the direction.

Thank you.

Stephen

Seems like the modern vote went well. I liked the way it was structured honestly. I think the country pick is an interesting twist. My only problem is that, short of infantry or particular artillery, there's Very few vehicles I'm terribly interested in- Ghq having made most of them already. But as they say, "you don't know what you don't know" so I'm interested in hearing what others suggest. I always learn something that way.

I'd be curious to see what, if any, of the losing picks wound up in the 2017-18 new release list. That'd bode well for future votes.

It'd also be interesting to see if "things I'd like see" thread was mirrored in voting ...
