Wow.. I wonder, was it because they were loosing money on the boxes or that sales were just not there. Disappointing indeed. I better scrounge up some money to get at least one set of the LCACs before they decided to get rid of those.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.

Many of the boxes, in my opinion, needed a few more figures. Some of the tank ones were pricey - if you looked at just getting individual packs in equivalent numbers it was cheaper. Granted the bunker box was a plus - so there was some cost offset there- but I believe Many folks use alternative carriers.

Maybe a more novel approach, that would yield sales, would be customizable battle groups or combat commands. Letting customer pick a set number of vehicles from a range of packs etc. cost would be 2.50 or 3.00 apiece for large vehicles, less for smaller items like infantry and keeps etc. I don’t know from a manufacturing end if this would be a nightmare, but I’d love to build my own Kampfgruppen or US Combat Teams. I think you could essentially do that kind of special ordering now, but if they formalized it it might gain more interest.

I’d order some Flossacke, maybe the pzkw iv bridge layer, couple 88s, some infantry, some mortars, some Opel blitzes, etc and have a river assault group
