Ghq packs are still a bargain

Post by nashorn88 »

Time came to open some of my hidden stash.
Wow..... a bunch still had price tag of $5.95 ghq1981 stamped.
The inflation calculator shows $5.95 in 1981 is equivalent to like 16.55 today.

Guess being a old timer it's still hard since I remember the old prices .....lol
Any know when ghq started casting in pewter?
Packs have the 100% pewter but was it over 30years ago? That can't be right?
Some advanced squad leader packs.... anyone remember these?

I don't remember when the change to pewter was, but it WAS a long time ago.
Could have been 30 years.
I remember that the New York SSR was making a big stink about lead back then...
Ah, old times...
I still have hundreds of GHQ models bought direct from them at $1.95, $2.20, or $2.45 per pack- back then the price varied depending on the actual size (and sometimes complexity- the original trucks were 3 pieces with a hollow cab for example) of the castings...
And I'm pretty sure some of those ASL packs are still available, though the listings may have changed a bit. (check some of the heavy weapons packs)

Best to all for Thanksgiving!
