Hey Uncle Fireball,
I'm wondering if your solution mirrors what a friend online did. He had two tables and a chart. Each fleet deployed on a table. The fleet locations are plotted on the chart and scouts move on the chart. After the enemy fleet is spotted, aircraft are launched but they also need to make a spot check before they can attack. Once they spot they deploy on the relevant table. Had his fleets survived he was going to merge the two tables to get to gunnery ranges.
Following your solution eagerly. BTW any chance of pics of the fleets?
