M109A6, Paladiin-(# N118) Question

Post by cinctim »

Hello,
On the model of the M109A6 Paladin, (N118),
is the gun barrel separate from the turret{?}, so that it
can be mounted at different elevations? Or is surgery
required to do so.... Thanks!

Sadly, you will have to do surgery, they are one piece.

Thanks for the quick answer Hoth, figured as much, but if you don't check...
would have figured it might be two pieces, just from a casting engineering stand point.

No problem. I have 10 of them and the ammo Carrier. I'm not much for heavy modifications so I left mine as is. Wish they had an alternate turret you could buy. If you mod them, post a pic.

Surgery indeed...but a new question, I've read on a website, that the maximum
elevation is 75°, which might be a bit steep. Or is this true and if not, what is the max °
it can go up to? Thanks!

75 degrees sounds about right, but I don't have the TMs anymore. It can fire at a very high angle, it just has to come back down to zero elevation to load before elevating the gun tube for firing. I'll see if my OBC / OAC references have anything about max elevation in them.
