Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
A quick decision by the RCN was made to get the Prototype Type 26 frigate, HMCS Wapiti River commissioned into service with Atlantic Command, she will be part of a third batch of Type 26s as soon as the first two Batches are done. There was a change to the design due to recent circumstances, the Aegis Combat system was Dropped and replaced with a different Radar suite, and the Launchers for the proposed NSM Missiles was also removed as well. the first batch, should be finished in early April.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
The Construction of the Type 26 has created competition among the shipyards in BC and Nova Scotia to see who can build the Frigates in the fastest time possible. One of these, Seaspan Yard No 2 got the Type 26 Frigate HMCS Hell's Gate finished in a record breaking 4 and 1/2 days from Keel laid to launching. The ship will be sent to the fitting out wharf to be armed.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Another set of changes to the Type 26 Design has been implemented by the Department of Acquisitions, they removed the original VLS launched Tomahawk and Sea Sparrow missiles from the design. instead it will be replaced with the French made Exocet Missiles for Anti-shipping work and British Made Sea Cats for Anti-Air work. these changes will delay building of the frigates as the yards will have to replace the launchers to accommodate the new missiles.

At the Avro Factory in Toronto, a Huge Celebration is underway as the CEO of the company, proudly shows off his Top Dog Trophy that the CF-21 squadrons won during the ROD Fighter rodeo last week. His big gamble has paid off. The Trophy will be displayed in the CF-21 Assembly line.
The RCAF Pilot who flew the aircraft from No 409 Squadron receives the Hero of New Canada Medal, for winning the Fighter Rodeo for the Nation, and the POP's Pax Globle medal of excellence.

Re: Canada (Imagi-Nation)
Following the sucess of the CF-21 in the Fighter Rodeo, Avro Canada has decided to expand their business by purchasing the former Lockheed Martian Canada buildings to produce spare parts for the fighters and maybe take on Non Aviation projects if the opportunity presents themselves.
Meanwhile in Navy News the Completion of the 15 Type 26 Frigates is nearing its end with the last ship HMCS Mckenzie is scheduled to be finished by next week.

The RCAF has been approached by Kawasaki Aerospace with a offer for the Kawasaki P-1 as a possible bid for the maritime patrol aircraft to help compliment or replace the CP-140 Aurora in service, the NCAF Department of Acquisitions, will investigate this aircraft to determine if it's sutible for the task.
Meanwhile The RCN is looking at acquiring the two recently retired Albion Class LPD's from the Royal navy as part of the RCNs efforts to create an effective Amphibious transport squadron.

There will be a delay for this round of the Pacific Patrol as HMCS Peace River is returned to the ship yard to resolve issues with her Electrical systems. She will be back out later this month.
