Book WWII Overview

Post by DAVIDARC »

My usual WWII book will be about a specific part of the war. I have not read a general overview of WWII in decades. Can someone recommend a current general single volume overview of the WWII? Looking for adult and high school age recomnedations.

The Second World War, Antony Beevor, might be a place to start. Can't say I've read it, but his other books didn't disappoint. So I don't imagine this one would.

One of my favorite books is Panzerkrieg, The rise and Fall of Hitler's Tank Divisions" by Pete McCathy and Mike Syron. Really great book.
Quantity has a Quality all its own.

For an overview, Max Hasting's Inferno: The World at War, 1939-1945 is excellent and I would also second Beevor's book as a good one.
