THANKS!
Thank you, GHQ, for getting the forum back up. I know it was a real headache this time.

Re: THANKS!
You are welcome! Thanks to all of you who use this space to share your ideas, answer questions, show off the work that you do, and so much more! We admittedly are not techie people here at GHQ, and sometimes mundane things like the forum error are absolutely terrifying for us. We attempted to contact the person who built our website many times, and got zero replies. In order to fix something like this you need to allow someone to get "inside" your system. There is a lot of trust that goes into that decision.
We first searched to find someone local who we could work with. We didn't want to attempt to vet a faceless, nameless anonymous person who may be 8,000 miles away. We also needed to find someone who we felt confident about their skills in working on this software platform. Of course, once we went through all of the above, it was a quick, and simple fix for her to do.
We have also inititated talks with her to work on the registration process for our forum. For many years anyone who wanted to could register, and immediately begin posting. Then one night we got absolutely bombarded with a p-o-r-n attack, and it didn't let up. We made the decision to extremely tighten up the registration process, and go through and manually delete all of the p-o-r-n posts. Doing this kept the forum firendly, and clean, but it also kept a lot of people out. Our goal is to institute some registration protocols that will not allow bots, will make it difficult for spammers, and keep it clear enough for legitimate new members to join in on the fun. We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can make this happen, and add some new bodies to this forum that has been friendly, educational, and interesting for so many years.
Thanks to all of you who have been a part of our forum over the years!

Re: THANKS!
Some of us were starting to go through withdrawal symptoms

Re: THANKS!
Being non-techies, we aren't sure. Previously the forum would occasionally get an error which we had been taught how to clear on our own. The error code this time was very long, and the previous fix didn't fix it. At this point we are just happy to have it cleared up, and have the forum back to functioning properly! Now our goal is to loosen the registration criteria so that we can promote and get more people, but keep it tight enough that we keep the spammers out! Then we can confidently promote the forum more, and get some new people into the mix!
We are keeping our fingers crossed that we can move forward with that!
Thank you for your support,
GHQ
