Okay, I think I've settled on using the ROLAND chassis as the basis for my CV90 conversion. Partly because that's what I have extras of and partly because in all their wisdom GHQ made the Marder 1A3 with an attached turret and I don't want to mess with filing that off. Does anybody have pictures or a link that shows topside details of the CV90 (any version)?

Russian Riflemen Conversions
Ok...now I know I need help...
My current conversion project is a Rifle and Bayonete-armed Russian Infantry Company. With GHQs latest releases, there is a void in the department of run-of-the-mill riflemen. This can be rectified using the over-abundant SMG-armed Infantry. With a soldering iron and a steady hand, rifles can be added to three of the SMG Infantry quite easily.
The Tokarev SVT/38or Simonov M/36 Semiautomatic Rifle armed soldier in the firing-from-the-hip stance can be converted in two ways. The simplest method is to remove the magazine with an x-acto and elongate the barrel with needle-nose pliars resulting in the following:

This can be elaborated on to include a solder bayonet:

The next figure is the running PPSH-41 armed soldier. Again the magazine is removed and a rifle barrel added:

A bayonete can be added as well and looks quite menacing!

Third, the crouching PPSH-41 armed soldier and have the drum-magazine cut away and a barrel added to result in:

Ill add some picture of the finished figures when they get done.
If interested in conversions, Ive added a section to my webpage
http://www3.telus.net/Ritterkrieg/konversion.htm
to preseve this thread and inspire some 6mm conversions.

I'm going to be modifying some M-706 armored cars into the new M1117 ASV. Has anyone tried this? It looks fairly straight forward. I'm going to be swapping out the small turret for the weapons turret from the AAV-7 and adding some plastic stock to reshape the front and lower sides of the hull. Anything else that stands out at this scale?

Got a Micro-Mark tool catalog in the mail the other day. The offer a starter kit for making your own photo-etch brass parts. Thought it might be of interest to Paul and some of the other folks here:

Here are some pictures of artillery positions I have created.

Never mind the T19 SPHs in them. The emplacements were made for towed guns, but I already had the T19s out today while I was taking pictures, so they showed up in these.
I first got the idea here on this forum. I think it was CAMA who said he based his off-board artillery units together into firing batteries. I got to thinking why not make an off-board "stand" for my own artillery? And then it became one that was off- or on-board. And then it was artillery or AT-guns. And so it became a generic gun emplacement.
The emplacements were scratch-built from FIMO modelling putty. I have made a mold, and casted several in resin for my own needs and for some gaming buddies.
I'm pretty happy with the way they came out.
