I'd like to start building some forces for the Korean War. I think the U.S. Forces are pretty well covered with existing models with the exception of recoilless rifles. The U.S. Models can also serve as proxies for many of the UN armies although I'm not so sure about Commonwealth forces.

On the other side I think tanks, artillery and Migs are available but I can't think of a good substitute for North Korean or Chinese infantry of that period.

And for winter warfare none of the infantry figures are available.

So...

Korean War UN Heavy Weapons - 75mm recoilless rifles with crews, 81mm mortars with crews, M 1919 MGs with crews, 3.5" super bazookas to start

Repeat in cold weather kit, overcoats, parkas, Mickey Mouse boots, trapper hats.

Redo the U.S. Infantry with more carbines and add walkie talkies, then repeat in winter kit.

For the Chinese and North Korean infantry, lots of burb guns and bugles could be added to the Russian infantry although I haven't seen any pictures of them wearing helmets so soft caps maybe? And for winter quilted uniforms and trapper hats as well.

Micro Force Napoleonics

Post by SFCDODGE65 »

Micro Force 10mm Napoleonic requests:
-Guard Units for all major nations
-Casualty figures for all
-Supply wagons

Building requests:
-10mm buildings from that era

Does anybody else play 10mm Napoleonics? It seems this line just died out. They are so much better looking than 6mm, 15mm, or any other 10mm line out there.

Post by pibber »

Hi all ! :)
Fiew ideas for the 2015-16 list :
US WWII :
- DC3 "Dakota" (with rear door in open or close position) (transport plane, paratroopers bus ! Gunship conversion Vietnam possible, cargo plane used everywhere !)
- US "Caterpillar" engineer Dozer D-7 and his 20t semi-trailer (prime mover could be GHQ Diamond 6x6 Hv truck or GHQ Treadway Corbitt 6t truck), very common in engineer units.
- 90mm M2 Antiaircraft guns (fire & tracted positions, with 6t truck corbitt without tarpaulin, as prime mover)
- LVT4, Pacific war version (with 2 armored shields and their HMG. Perfect for Iwo Jima landing for example. A waterline version would be great too !).
- LVT(A)4 waterline.
- LVT(A)1 waterline.
- Ammo trailer pack, for M8 howitzer and for M4 Sherman 105mm.
- Re-do M1 155mm Howitzer in fire and towing positions.

GERMAN WWII :
- New 3t Opel Blitz with open cargo late war hull (rear cargo without tarpaulin) & with one 4X4 into the pack (very important to do another pack of this truck because actual O.Blitz is not very exciting : no possibility to carrying individual or seated infantry, no possibility to carrying light AA weapons or showing supply carrying inside like ZIS or Gaz russians trucks)
- Opel Blitz bus (perfect for HQ and sanitat units)
- SdKfz 251/3 & 11 ausf "D" pack (for HQ platoon in every late war Pz.Gr. company/battalion)

Engineer figures. All nations, multiple poses with minesweepers, probing for mines, detonators, etc. Even if there were just a few that could be mixed with the normal infantry.

I recognize that pibber's request for an LCA is in the Microarmor range, but how about a 1/2400 Micronauts pack of British landing craft:
- about a dozen LCAs [over 2000 built]
- perhaps five or six LCT(4) [about 850 built, slightly different from the US-built LCTs]
- about 4 LCP(L) [the British built 600]
- one or two each of LCS(M), LCG(M), and LCT(1) [about 100 of each built]

Yes, yes, very agree with you "Donald M. Scheef", it would be great to have all the boats you mention in 1/2400 scale :
playing amphib assault landing is always interesting and it's always a great visual effect too to see the full armada slowly approching the beaches :)
