Never mind the T19 SPHs in them. The emplacements were made for towed guns, but I already had the T19s out today while I was taking pictures, so they showed up in these.

I first got the idea here on this forum. I think it was CAMA who said he based his off-board artillery units together into firing batteries. I got to thinking why not make an off-board "stand" for my own artillery? And then it became one that was off- or on-board. And then it was artillery or AT-guns. And so it became a generic gun emplacement.

The emplacements were scratch-built from FIMO modelling putty. I have made a mold, and casted several in resin for my own needs and for some gaming buddies.

I'm pretty happy with the way they came out.
Good job MKI,when GHQ  :!: comes out with WWI infantry we know how (and who) to get the trenches from...

Ben,

I'll post pics of the trucks over the next couple of days. My home computer is AFU right now so that's slowing me down.

I don't have Deathtraps, but I do have Hunnicutt's Pershing Medium tank book. Several pictures of it in there.

Also it is covered in Irwin's personal memoir: Another River, Another Town: A Teenage Tank Gunner Comes of Age in Combat -- 1945.

Irwin, a retired professor of Philosophy, claims to have been the gunner in the Super Pershing for at least part of his, and it's, combat careers.

If anyone does build the Super Pershing, this book would provide the basis for several skirmish-level scenarios.

As I just added the M26E4 and its gun to the American data sheets.

I would take the story of the Supe rPershing vs. KT with a grain of salt. A researcher friend of mine got a hold of the daily logs of the US units said to be involved at the date in question and could find no mention of it.

This story on the web page isn't corroborated by the action reports.
But in Dessau on April 21, "luck" would befall the Super Pershing crew commanded by SSgt Joe Maduri, a veteran 3AD tanker in his tenth straight month of combat....
a King Tiger had apparently been waiting in ambush at a distance of two blocks ...
...battle for Dessau would end completely on the following day, but not without the Super Pershing destroying another German heavy tank (believed to be a 50-ton Panther Mark
A person who gets into the National Archives posted this:
..managed to track down the after action reports for the 3rd Armored Division, & 33rd Armored Regiment for March & April of 1945. I couldn’t find any indication that a King Tiger (or any Panzer for that matter) was knocked out by 33rd Armored Regiment on, or around April 21, 1945.

1st April F-Company, 33rd Armored Regiment, 3rd AD, destroyed 2-MkV
Panthers and damaged a third.

15th April (Night Action) D-Company, 33rd Armored Regiment, knocked
out "some" SP guns.

April 17th: German counterattack from Bobbau-Steinfurth with 8 tanks and associated stuff. Knocked back by air.

April 18th: More German tanks, this time inside Bobbau-Steinfurth. Another part of the division was attacked from Reuden by a small force to include 3 tanks.

April 21-24. Street fighting in Dessau.
Still there may be other reports that are more detailed.

There's a lot of great work posted here on this thread. Thought I might just post some of my work. I've made quite a few 6mm scale scratch built buildings using techniques found on IanH's website. Saves a lot of time and money and they look great at this scale.

Ouch! I sprained my eyes! 8)

Soon as I get the bandages off, I'm going back to IanH's site to check up on the techniques!
