Fox at,
Nice work on your navy. Looking very nice.
For whatever reason the Schere really looks awesome, ‘it pops’!

Great looking stuff, Foxbat! Your ships are extremely well done and you manage to get them finished as well. I admit to having some ships that have been base coated and have been needing my further attention for over 10 years.
I like your version of the Scheer. I painted Hipper in a similar scheme for GHQ a few years ago. She is in one of her 1942 schemes.

Thanks gentlemen.
I have finished painting Beatty's squadron, still have to do Evan-Thomas, but that's in my latest GHQ order.
The whole lot (6 ships) in columns, prior to deploying for battle.

The Splendid Cats, starting with Beatty's flagship, Lion, that narrowly escaped a turret hit explosion

Her sister ship, Queen Mary, that had no such luck

The last of the trio, Princess Royal, that escaped with the least damage

The Indefatigable class, minus Australia that was under repair after a collision
Indefatigable, that was the first battlecruiser to blow up from a hit by Von der Tann

her sister ship HMS New Zealand, which escaped any damage in the battle. Rumor has it that it was due to her commander wearing a Maori attire that was given to him by a NZ chieftain to give good luck to the ship. Seems it worked!

And lastly, HMS Tiger, the RN's most modern battlecruiser, but also the one with the poorest gunnery and least well trained crew

A last shot of the last three classes of RN battlecruisers, showing a deceiving external similarity with their more successful Hochseeflotte counterparts

I just sent my Black Friday order, somewhat larger than last year's. Hopefully that won't be the last time I can order from GHQ, as i live in the EU and they have come with some new regulations that may really kill all possibilities

Excellent work on all those British, BCs, Foxbat! I have all of the unpainted models except for Indefatigable which I painted years ago. One of these days... It is great to see your stuff here.

Hello gentlemen. Before I start, let 2025 be a happy year for all of you. Happiness, health & prosperity!
I've been away for a while, not in the mood for painting, but my last order arrived last month, I just had a 2 weeks vacation, so I got back to my brushes. Not many ships, just USS Astoria, sailing towards her fate under the Solomons night sky.

I also did 2 tutorials, posting links here as well as in the thread's 1st post
Building a GHQ Micronaut
It will be superfluous to many, I think, but might be useful for some...

Great work on the Astoria, Foxbat! I too use a white undercoat as well so the ships don't get too dark. My go-to weathered Navy Blue is actually Humbrol Royal Air Force Blue which is a blue gray color and looks great for weathered measure 21. I used it on the Fletcher and Helena which are in the GHQ catalog.
One of these days, not sure when, I will get back to painting some more ships again.

IJN Maya Heavy cruiser. I tried a lighter grey for this one, since the paint darkness could vary depending on the different shipyards where maintenance was done. Sorry too for the reflection in the ship base... My first try was way worse in this respect, this one is just passable but I couldn't do better.

On a side note, that's my 13th (!) IJN CA... I still have a few Takaos & Atagos to do, but I'm afraid I'll run out of them soon!
