Is the presenter in that video different than before. The voice in that video is about the only one I've ever heard.

Chris Cappy (Your Average Infantryman) was the original presenter. I much preferred him to the present guy. I stopped watching when Chris was pushed out.

I believe your thinking of Task and Purpose. The real story there is that cappy left task and purpose because the company that owned it started pushing him for more content and refused to pay him more.....so he left. See video below.

Well, its been a grip since the last time I posted. Because of that, I figured I would share my most recent progress on my Kursk Regiment. I decided to do some kit bashing so that some of my Panzer Gs, Panzer Ls and Panzer Ns had the add on armor around the turret. I love variety and also my collection matching real life. So here you go. Accept for the command tanks and flamethrower tanks, this should finish up all the combat vehicles I need.

Group shot on the paint mat. Which also includes some Panther A and Ds for an independent company.



Panzer III Ls, with side skirt and turret add on armor, and Panzer Ls with just add on turret armor.



Next up is some Panzer Ns, with side skirt and Turret add on armor, and Panzer N with just turret add on armor.



Last but not least is the PZIVG with turret add on armor and no turret add on armor.




Next is the detail and camo painting. Then the whole formation on the parade field for pictures...

For some time, my collecting has been limited to buying what ever peaked my interest from new releases or from what I saw other people building. This was about to soon change. Not too long ago, the organizer of my hobby group made it clear that he really only enjoyed playing WWII games using GHQ. Modern was not a favorite,at this scale, because he did not think the ranges made game play that enjoyable for him. Then the book Panzer Truppen. It peaked my interest because of the detailed TO&E that was shown. Wanting to build a 1943 unit, I purchased the book to assist in my effort. Once obtained, I poured through the pages and the wealth of information it revealed to me. Soon I came across the TO&E for the 11th panzer regiment before Kursk.. See below.



I thought for a moment and decided to build a full regiment. I mean how hard would it be to paint up 107 vehicles with a mono color camo. I dove in to my goal and sprinted forward... As I worked on the unit, I soon realized that this was more of a marathon than a sprint and would need to pace myself. Then I realized that in my haste to purchase all that I needed, I should have been more selective with which tanks I bought. A big batch of the them were not the correct ones for what I was attempting.. sadly I had base coated them and they would need to be set aside to be stripped and repainted in the correct colors. To fix my error, I had to make additional purchases to fix my error. This meant more base coating and more camo. Now I am in it deep. As of today, only about a quarter are any were close to being done and another portion is limited to painted treads, wheels and camo. A fall smaller batch is still in need of base coating. Shown below is what I have done so far, in various stages of completion. Notice the tanks treads face up that are treads in work and two two chassis awaiting camo. There are, turrets piled up in the upper left corner waiting for the cassis to do final camo. See below.




Now I am in too deep and the only way out is forward. How do you eat an elephant, you might ask? One big bite at a time and you keep chewing until its gone.

Hoth - great wip. It is a labor of love.

You don't have to boil the ocean. When I was doing the M1/M2 3 tone battlegroup, I would do 1 company at a time start to finish. That way it seems more manageable and you do see the results of your hard work.
