Very nice terrain indeed. Has, IMO, a proper Eastern front feel :wide open fields, enclosed by tree lines to break the wind.

Pete,
I have to agree, your terrain is always top tier. Add in your incredibly painted pieces and you have a feast for the eyes.

Thank you both very much, Foxbat and Hoth!
I have turned my attention to adding to my European Terrain Layout. I am currently working on some more Russian/Ukrainian buildings and maybe adding some trees and fields to my existing terrain.

Pete,
Please post when you get more buildings and terrain done. Been talking with Redleg and we are both warming up to the idea of getting into the terrain builder stuff. No argument that your stuff is really great. I have held back because I don't own a house and have limited storage space. Who knows what the future holds.

Hi Hoth
I will do that. I have just set up a layout similar to what I will be using for my upcoming Mein Panzer game at Imperial Outpost on December 7th.
Pictures to come.

Pete,
Can't wait to see it... Every aspect of your work, weather its terrain, buildings or vehicles, is a feast for the eyes. With that said, its tanksgiving and its time to see more hobby stuff.

Thanks very much, Hoth!
Here are a few teaser pictures of my basic terrain layout for the upcoming game on December 7th. I have actually started a solo game with the German pre-turn arrival.

Pete,
You never seem to disappoint. That board looks amazing. I really hope I get to play on one of them someday in the future.. Now we need to see tanks rolling down the road. It is Tanksgiving.

Beautiful terrain Pete! Very inspiring! So inspiring, in fact, that I added a pack of terrain maker to my Black Friday purchase. I am going to the dark side, and you are to blame!

Re: Pete's Place
Pete,
Got a couple of questions quick questions for you.
1. When you are purchasing tanks for a company, do you model them at full strength or a reduced capability company based on a specific time period?
2. When modeling a company, do you model them typically all the same type of vehicle or do you mode mix companies based on how they would have been in actual combat?

Beautiful terrain indeed.
Who will be the defender? There is a nice position to defend behind that river

Re: Pete's Place
Thank you all very much, Hoth, Redleg, Chris, and Foxbat! I really appreciate it.
I had Richard Faber over at the house today to go over our upcoming game next week. I have been mulling some changes to the layout especially in the area of the river. He concurred so I have already adjusted the terrain in that area. I will be taking some pictures of the new, revised layout.
We also decided that with 5 players, we are going to pair down the size of the forces a bit, at least initially. The Su152s, T-70s, Panthers, Tigers, and StuGs will not be present unless one of the players is really taking a beating. Of the 5 players, 2 will be newbies to Mein Panzer so will need to get up to speed a bit. The other 3 have played a couple times each.
The Russians will have a T-34 battalion of 31 tanks divided into the 3 companies. The Germans will have 2 mixed Panzer III and Panzer IV companies. Sometimes simpler is better.

Re: Pete's Place
Hi Hoth
In reference to how I build my units. There is no exact set way for me. Some of my units are full TO&E less the support vehicles while some are depicted in reduced form.
My Afrika Korps tank companies are definitely reduced although I have made great strides this year to fix that somewhat. Even though reduced they are still reasonable and not severely depleted.
My M4A1 and M4A3 Shermans are enough for a company each plus extras but not enough for 2 of each ... yet.
My Panther A and G mixed company has 12 tanks right now so not up to strength.
My Panther D company only has 7 tanks right now. Many of these early Panthers tended to break down so I don't feel bad about fielding only a 7 tank company even though is should be much larger.
My Panzer IVH company is at full TO&E including Kubelwagens and Kettenkrads. That was done for the Panzer IV Combat Command.
I have a T-34/85 battalion that is full strength at 21 vehicles. Eventually, I would like a whole brigade at some point. I do have a full strength T-34/42 and T34/43 battalion.
Even though some of my units are reduced, I will game with them reduced as sometimes in the real world you bring what you have, not always what you would like to have.
I hope this helps.
