I will try to limit myself to five:
Maryland in '44 at Leyte
M-59 APC for the '50s US Army
M-75 APC for NATO '50s
AMX-VCI APC (an old favourite of mine)
Kent or London class cruiser in another guise (another vote)

And if those five don't suit, try:
Mississippi at Leyte
Another Sherman variant (can never have too many to choose from)
Matilda I (another vote)
A-4 Skyhawk (another vote, but mine would be used in the Middle East)
Su-7 or MiG-17/19 (ok, that's three. I cheated - sue me)

(Oops... missed the WWII bit... At least only leaves five choices! :D )

It would be great to see the South African Ratel 20 and Ratel 90 APCs.

GHQ could probably kill two birds with one stone by casting one hull and two different turrets. The same thing GHQ has already done with the AML 60/90.

Also, it would be nice to see more post WWII aircraft like the Mirage III, Su7 and lets not forget Migs, like the Mig 15, 17, 19 and 21.

Finally, I would be nice to see Guard Towers and a European style church added to the building line.

Thanks for the forum.

I agree with the suggestions that have been added to this post. But as always feel that i need to add my own 2 cents.

I would love to see WWII and Modern TO&E's for more than just the American WWII. Or ones that could be expanded upon from the Rules.

Would love also to see Combat Commands for

French DCM's
1939 and 1940 Motorized Infantry and Armor Groups
1939 and 1940 Soviet Infantry also Motorized Infantry along with Armor Groups
And more Combat Commands that would handle the Cold War Crisis, that could cover between end of WW2 and Korea.

Well would just love to see MORE, MORE and more new selections. :D

GHQ WWII Wishlist

Post by pmskaar »

I guess there is a large vocal cry for the Matilda Mk I. Although I have no particular interest in this tank for some reason lots of people seem to want it. I think GHQ should do this one and I will buy a pack of them just because.
The models that I would like to see from WWII are:

Ju 87B Stuka - this one is very important as it is the main German ground attack aircraft from 1939 through 1942 at least. When one thinks of Blitzkrieg this aircraft naturally comes to mind. A must!!

Sherman M4A3 - GHQ has a model of this but needs to have the one with the split turret hatch rather than the less common cupola which is the one they have now. Most of the pictures of various Shermans I see in books show the split hatch and this one should be done as well. I do have some of the M4A3's with the cupola already so these would mix in with those.

Sherman detail kits - would include spare tracks, bogies, and other common items to customize our Shermans. Maybe some additional armor plate as well for the turret and hull as was commonly done. Perhaps also some Cullen Hedgerow Cutters as well.

Mk III L, M, N upgrade kit. This would have sideskirts and turrets with sideskirts to add to the MK III's that had these.

British 6 Lbr Portee. I think common enough for late Desert War.

M4A2 Sherman for Russian service.

That's it for now altough there are many others for consideration and I haven't even touched on the infantry.

I know I'm beating a Dead Horse but:

Rework WW2 American Infantry add the browning 30 cal and water cooled machine guns. And most imortantly American WW2 Airborne! and Weapons.

A wish but of lesser improtance because I don't know how well they would sell is:
American WW2 Marines in steel post and unbloused trousers no greaves,
And for grins Early WW2 Americans in Tommy helmets!

Well that about does it.
I pray for Peace on Earth Good will toward men. Till then one round HE fire for Effect!

casualties of different armies

Post by Wayne »

I`d like to see casualties in different poses ie. wounded in many poses and dead in different poses. Battlefields should be littered with bodies and possibly weapons such as rifles, machine guns and other accessories that infantry carry. Is this possible from GHQ

Hi All

I'd just like to 'second' some of the above suggestions:

pmskaar
Sherman detail kits - would include spare tracks, bogies, and other common items to customize our Shermans.
British 6 Lbr Portee – since you second-ed mine :D

pibber
Few sections of Baileys bridge – that would make a nice PE project 8)
DC3 – since you second-ed mine :D
Fieseler Storch – ditto :D

"I`d like to see casualties in different poses ie. wounded in many poses and dead in different poses. Battlefields should be littered with bodies ..." – there's a very nice, professional man I know, who you should probably talk to ...

Adding to the wish list

Post by roger houston »

As for the WWII stuff, I see no better thing for GHQ to bring out this coming year than a good old F-4U Corsair to keep the new Zero models at bay. They could offer it with a photoetch prop giving you a choice of a three blader (WWII) or a 4 blader (Korea,Suez or even Soccer War).
Now, those of us who are making the most of our collection, would loooove to see GHQ come out with an M-54 5ton truck this year. I am starting to like gaming Vietnam and based on my research, the 5 ton was used in the line haul in convoys in country, and was the primary vehicle converted to a gun truck configuration (ie EVE OF DESTRUCTION up at Ft Eustis). The model could be configured like the LMTV with the cab/body separated from the frame so that kitbashers like myself can build the M-54 Dump Truck or wrecker or leave empty and have a tractor with a kitbashed trailer. The M-54 is one of those that could be seen as early as Korea up to as late as Desert Storm or beyond. The current M-923 model is OK, but is really not easy to paint up to look like it belonged to a TC Company in Vietnam.

Pibber made me think of water with the LVTs so....

Pontoon or other mobile bridge
Assault boats for various nations (The best way to take a bridge is from both ends...)

We should make a combined list. There are so many good suggestions! I wonder how long it take to create a production figure from design to casting and packaging? How expensive is developing a new model?

"We should make a combined list. There are so many good suggestions!"

Good idea srcurrie. How do we go about that? It would be helpful to see a structured list along the lines of period/nation/item requested.

Hey, Mk 1! I was thinking about your reflection on my earlier post  and you know what? 'smug' is about right, 'cos it does feel a teeny-weeny bit as if I got my own way, especially since I don't remember any one else here championing the Ju52 or Go242 :D (although I wouldn't be surprised to discover that GHQ had received similar suggestions through other channels).

But, naturally, I am also VERY VERY appreciative. Thanks again GHQ :D :D :D
