INFANTRY WISH LIST FOR 2007

I would like to have;
French soldiers surrendering
Japanese soldiers in suicide poses
British troops brewing up tea (so I can play the Normandy and Arnhem campaigns)
German soldiers who look like Sgt Schultz and Colonel Klink
Russian female soldiers who look like men
American supply clerks (who look like Don Rickles)

I think the artillery crews (I use Russian and US for modern) are closer to 1/285 than the other infantry packs, so they work just fine as vehicle crewman.

For all the commentary on the scale of GHQ figures, they still look great on the table next to the vehicles, and the size issues aren't really noticeable.

I would like to put in a vote for more NATO infantry -- a sprue with 3 German, 3 French, and 3 generic (FN-FAL maybe) armed figures would be ideal, with a matching heavy weapons set (81mm mortars, Milans, LRACs, PzFausts, plus a command sprue) would garner a large order from me.

Does GHQ currently make dogs? I think that would be a great addition to the infantry packs. For WWII Germans you could sculpt little anti-tank mines on them!

I thought that the anti-tank mine, dog was a Soviet development. The story I heard was that they trained the dogs to run under enemy tanks, where a top-mounted contact fuse would detonate the mine under the least-protected surface. The rub was that the tanks used to train the dogs were old Soviet tanks, so on the first combat trial the dogs ran to ---. All this may be pure German propoganda, but if the Germans had had this type of program, I think they would have used captured Soviet tanks.

I don't know, I might have had the nationalities mixed up in my mind. Especially since they were both very loving, kind and compassionate people!

Re: attaching bombs to dogs

I know from what I've read, that when you're fighting for your very existance, some pretty desperate measures can be tried and used... but I can no more imagine strapping a mine to my yellow Labrador Retriever or my (late) Border Collie than I can strapping a bomb to one of my kids.

Well, okay -- if it comes down to the kids or the dogs, I'll send in the dogs... but dang! that sounds cruel!

Now, strapping a bomb to my wife...

Turns out some of my crewmen came loose from one of my tracks, so while I was working on micros today I decided to fix them. And since I had the camera out ...


This is a pic of two of the seated figures from the Armored Infantry pack, and one standing figure from the Artillery Crew pack. These three make up the gun crew of my TD.


A dab or two of super-glue (I prefer the jell type) and they are back in place.


Using two packs (artillery crew and seated infantry) gives a fair variety of poses that can be struck. I used that to my advantage, and for my M3 TD company there are no two vehicles with crewmen in the same positions.

Just to tap that dead horse one more time. Redo the US WW2 line to current standards with Air Borne. You will also be able to reconfigure the weapons pack to include the 30cal both in air-cooled and water-cooled versions.

And the new suggestion is US Pacific infantry without greaves or bloused trousers. Even though greaves were regulation for both the marines and army they were chucked as soon as the officers weren’t looking. (They were shucking them as well)

I would like to see some WWII Soviet Naval Infantry.

There are plenty of interesting scenarios that could be done with them and I really want to see somebody paint the distinctive blue and white striped t-shirts they wore in 6mm.

I would love to see US infantry in Greatcoats as I have mentioned numerous times in the past. Marines would be excellent carrying M1903s for Guadalca---an---al.

Nothing really new from me. I agree with the other requests by and large. I still would like to see more poses for the WWII infantry. A simple fix would be to take the modern poses - most of which are advancing and add some of these to the WWII packs in the various nationalities.
I also would like to see additional crews for some of the mortars and mg's. I think that all medium mg's should have at least 2 crew figures and the medium and heavy mortars should have at least 3. Still need more medium and heavy mortars in the same scale and uniform as the armies that they are supporting. One of the biggest gripes I have is that the Russian mortars and AT crews are done in Winter style uniforms with greatcoats and fur hats. These don't match my summer Russians very well. Also the British light mortar seems to be of the wrong type. Russian AT rifles, Riflemen, and Maxim medium MG's would be nice as well.
I would also like to see more crews for the smaller AT guns such as a "summer" Russian crew, an AK German crew, A North Africa British crew and both AT and regular French artillery crews with Adrian helmets. GHQ makes the French 25mm AT guns and some of the artillery but no crews!
I could go on but you get the idea.
