CV90 & Puma/Ascod

Post by chrisswim »

I am still in the market for CV9030, CV9040, & CV9040 AA; also the Ascod. I do not need the training CV90, but will take the above. Great opportunity here in my opinion.

Even though I have created the CV9030 (someone's marder hull and the MCV80 turret, w/glue on top of barrel to smooth out the frame for the barrel) and CV9040 with same hull and Scorpin 90 turret.....not the best, but best I can do for now.

Don't get me wrong, I do not want everything listed made (it would be nice but that is a different story). The list is only here to show the potential the CV90 might have. More than 1000 vehicles were delivered to six countries so far and it is a vehicle family with quite a lot versions. This is making it the one of the most successful western AFVs.

My priority would be the Strf 9040B, it has the original look and forms the basis for a Strf 9040C if required (which would make more sense from a wargamers perspective).
In general (without personal preference) I would go for the Norwegian CV9040N, still rather original look and it could IMO stand in for many other versions (especially FIN and CH) as well.
If the Lvkv 9040 is considered the Strf 9040A would be the way to go as this one could form the basis for it. Nevertheless if you ignore some details the Strf 9040B would work as well. Furthermore a Strf 9040C could rather easily be converted into a Lvkv 9040C.

So my prio list (personal):
Strf 9040B
Grkpbv 90120
Bgbv 90

Prio list (neutral):
CV9030N

Ban, glad you did not want or expect all to be manufactured. Although there are several different Styrker varients produced by GHQ. I wasn't planning to get any, then bought a pack, got some in an auction online or a trade, then bought a bunch of packs last summer in the sale two different occasions, and now have about 120-140 Strykers. I have modified the Stryker CAV with the LAV 25 turret for Canada. Mick/7.62 used the Stryker MGS with LAV 25 turret for the Canadians(he is Canadian).

What countries took delivery of which models.
I will take those as you suggest.
CV9030
CV9040
CV90120
add an AA.
thank you, chris

Moin Chris,

I am happy to see that we have been able to reanimate this topic :D.
Hopefully my interest in JSDF stuff is not distracting me too much from this theme .

Kind regards from Germany,
Ben

GHQ should produce a few of the CV90 series.

What have you done with the JSDF? I have a few.
Ty 90 MBT, I have used 8 or 12 of someone Leopard 2 (some w/camo netting) for their MBT. It will have to do..... For Ty 74 MBT, someone produces it, and I have used a company in Minn AMX 30 to represent it, cut off the light.
Ty 89 APC, use someones Marder hull with GHQ Scimitar turret.
For the Ty 87 recon, use a French VBC 90 hull and LAV 25 turret, (also use this for the Spainish recon).
For the JSDF AA Ty 87, Sheridan hull with Gepard turret.

The gives my overview of scratch build systems for JSDF.

I should place this info in scratch built thread....

Germany is deploying the PUMA IFV as I have been told. Chile is buying/bought some Marders. So we need the Puma IFV.

So if we were to get a Puma what armor level would be want? Level A armor is the standard package but Puma will also have a level C up armor kit that is modular. I think it would be neat to have the option to choose personally e.g. the stryker slat armor.

If we substantiate and clarify what we would purchase...perhaps GHQ would take a serious look at Puma once they enter active service.

Thoughts?

As a compromise, Armor Level B. Although that may end up being the lest utilized package. A is fine.
