I bought one of each of the "new design, made with resin" JR buildings. The quality is a massive improvement over their previous stuff (which can be made to look decent, with a lot of work). With the exception of the office buildings and Factory not having any doors, they are actually very good. The new ruins are a big improvement, too.

Excellent

Leva

Very good
GHQ

RaySams

Useful resin buildings

Post by stenna00 »

Try this site:

( SNIP -- sorry 'bout that, but our hosts ask that we not post webstore links in the forums. -MODERATOR Mk 1)

Its Chiltern Miniatures and they now sell the "Maimly Military and MBG Accessories" range of /1/300 resin buildings which includes a railway station, that looks like the one in these pictures.

Hope his helps those searching for good buidlings.

Stenna:

I'm afraid I had to snip the webstore link out of your posting. It is OK to mention other manufacturers and discuss their products, but our hosts as GHQ have asked that forum members not post links to other companies' websites here in the forums.

You are indeed correct, my train station seems to come from this producer. I also have several of their other buildings, including the Mosque, 2 Arab Buildings, Arab Village, 2 Tunisian Buildings, Terraced Townhouse, Church, and Radar Site. Yet I don't think I've ever bought from them. Must have gottem most of them through vendors at gaming cons, or through other third party vendors over the years.

All came out licely enough in my view.

(And again, sorry to have edited your posting. Nothing wrong with mentioning them, just please don't post direct links. Thanks...)

Glad to see Mainly Military still exists (though it looks like an abbreviated product line).
I'd rate their products as 'good with work'.

I really wish more structures were available.

I found Leva

Post by Xveers »

Well, the guy Legions4hire on ebay happens to run a RL store out in Winnipeg, and it appears his website has updated enough to have a list of what he sells...

Which appears to be most of Leva's offerings. I won't post a link here since that would annoy the powers that be, but let me just say you want to google for "DB Miniatures" and then look for an address that starts with "members.shaw.ca"

Yeah, I'm being a bit snarky but Leva and GHQ compliment each other excellently, and from what I see there's next to no overlap in product.

Couldn't agree with you more, Xveers.

It's not like there is an excess of structures out there, already. And even if two or more manufacturers made a model of the same thing (say, a gas station) that each would be identical, unlike a military vehicle where the model is a miniature copy of a known historical piece of equipment..

Thread necromancy!

Anyhow, just got my shipment from LegionsIVHire and I am very happy with the quality. Definitely a worthy successor to Leva. Not everything is up and in production yet, apparently some of the molds are pretty beat up, so they aren't in production yet. But what they do have in production, is good quality.

google for "DB Miniatures" and then look for an address that starts with "members.shaw.ca" and try mixing in "LegionsIVHire" as well.

Alain is definitely back in business, and has given me permission to pass on his e-mail address should you want to contact him. He has no web site. :(

PM me and I'll give it to you.

I got one, too, in answer to an email I sent him March 6, 2006!
Glad to hear it, though. This hobby can always use more structures.

I'm fairly new to the hobby... who is alain?
Its a sniper rifle, not a "sniper"! You don't call an assault rifle an "assault"!
