You're welcome!
I'm happy to help.
I've been buying and using your products since 1976, and appreciate the efforts you've made over the years. I completely understand how and why these kinds of things happen.
Thanks for being so responsive. I plan to buy at least 40 Pumas, too.
And please let me know (in the future) if you'd like something from the JANES site.
Steve

Looking on the Bundeswehr site I have found the following images
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj9QiVri13Q
This is a mobility test of one of the protorype with added weights and it has 6 wheels.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPH_0u88gP8
In the last frames of this you can see the first two IFV of series production delivered. Note the gun frame on the turret!!!. In the film you can see the same gun firing. I think that also this is a detail to clarify.

Dear all,
just to clarify one thing, my first post regarding the Puma didn't have the aim to sabotage the selling of a fine product. I try to post only things which I am 100% clear about, however I should have included sources.
One problem I am fully aware of, is the fact that the Bundeswehr webpage (to name on example) still shows photos of the 5 roadwheel Puma.
Nevertheless, the 6 roadwheel version is certainly, without any doubt, the version which entered service with the Bundeswehr following the delivery of the first two vehicles on December 6th. 2010.

I am not sure if the stabilising frame is part of the modifications take over to the series vehicles but it seems like that, as the most recent photos of two vehicles deploying to Norway for further tests are showing this installation.

Furthermore I asked a friend who is working as a journalist for military themes, if he can provide us with a recent photo of the in service Puma.
At last it must be clear that details of the Puma may still be subject to change. Examples are: MUSS (MUltifunktionale SelbstschutzSystem), MELLS (MEhrrollenfähiges Leichtes Lenkflugkörper System = multipurpose light guided missile system, will be SPIKE LR), rear ramp, possibly coax. MG ...
Kind regards,
Ben

One further point. The first two "series" vehicles have been delivered to the Bundesamt für Wehrtechnik und Beschaffung zur Nachweisführung übergeben (the Technical department) not to the army. They will be subject to a long series of furter testing before final decisions on some details.
According to German sources the first deliveries to Bundeswehr operational units is planned for middle 2013, the last within 2020. Supposing a constant delivery this means about one battalion per year. The panzergrenadier battalion is planned with 44 Pumas (2 at BHQ and 3 companies of 14 each).
There is time for further modifications even if minor ones.

Hi all.
TAMMY is right, the Puma is still undergoing tests with the BWB and further modifications are likely.
At the moment the vehicles look like this:

Dear GHQ,
I have to pay my respect for your fast response to the issues which came up with the Puma IFV! The new recast model looks great and I highly appreciate that a firm like yours takes the time and money to modify a product in order to get the best possible product.
Thumbs up! Great work!
Kind regards and best wishes from Germany,
Benjamin

Picture of G566 (12.8 cm PaK 44) is now in the catalog. It's the Krupp version. There are three guns, all with the carriage in the firing configuration. There is no prime mover included and it will considerable work to modify the carriages to the travel configuration. For a prime mover, I think I would use sWS. For converting to the travel mode, the legs with pivots have to be cut off and re-attached parallel to the fixed legs. After this it should be easy to attach the wheels in the lowered position.
The model looks great - nice detail and nasty appearance.
I think it will be easy to trade guns between this and G567 (mittlere Einheitswaffentraeger with 15 cm sFh).

Towed version of G566
That is excellent news about the towed version. I am glad you came out with the set up version first. That must have been a nasty weapon on the Eastern front and I have to wonder how lucky the Western powers knew they were that the Germans committed their heaviest AT weapons to the East.
It is a beautiful model and it is very convertible to the 15cmHaubitz mittliere mount.
