Hi Benjamin,
I fully understand what you are saying about the 9040C camo. I have only seen the up armoured package on a prototype (8-10 years ago) in the splinter Swedish camo.
All the new Swedish equipment seems to be solid green, XA-360, Rg32 etc.

What I think you will see when the money is there (or they have but not issued them) is the splinter camo on the Barracuda MSCN (Multi spectral camouflage nets).
That way a green machine can go from the Arctic to the Baltic to the Mid East without paint.
Just change the nets. The big driving force is the signature reduction not the paint saving

My 9040C's are for my freelance Balzac Defence Force. Kind of a Swedish/Finnish/Swiss mix. First test items without detail or tracks painted.

Dark green, OG and black grey. The grey is much darker in normal light.
Cheers.

Hello!

7.62, this prototype seems to be the one I have photos of on my HD.
The Swedes started with this overall green color when they received the Patgb 203, some of the Transport seems to have been just green even earlier. I have very few pictures of Patgb 203A in splinter-camo, having more pictures of them in desert color.
As you already said the newer stuff, like the Patgb 360, Bv 410, Tgb 16 (RG32), Archer SPH is coming in green and sometimes in desert.

EDIT START:
At last even older (Swedish) vehicles are sometimes colored in overall green (likely after it has undergone refurbishment or similar tasks), the Pbv 302 is one example.
Other countries like the UK or the US (Stryker series for example) are also going green.
EDIT END

Desert-colored MCS was used on Strf 9040C in Afghanistan.
Sometimes you also see MCS for temperate zones on other Strf 90 versions, I have some photos showing it but would have to check if those are made in splinter-camo.

Nice looking Strf 9040C you have there. I like the camo scheme a lot and would use something similar, mabye with some just green vehicles among them to add variety. This is what I decided (yesterday) to do with my Norwegians as well.

Kind regards,
Benjmain

Mick,
Any new pics of your Balzac force? Are they out on maneuvers? Moving into Camastan?
Should be. Watch out for Ginger!!

Nice photo! I like to see the Strf 9040C in comparison with the Leopard 2 variants. Maybe I need some Leopards as well...

From my point of view the three(four?)-tone camo looks very good. I would drop in some of the just green ones. The snow-camo looks nice as well. Maybe a few with that one for no specific reason.
The Leopard 2A4 which looks brown to me is not on my like-list. I would drop that option.

Looking forward to see more!

My current project is to create a CV90 Armadillo but I still wait for some spare parts which I need to go on with the work.

Cheers,
Benjamin

The CV90 Armadillo is steaming ahead...
At the moment I have two prototypes ready.

One is planned to be used as Command Vehicle.

The other version is intended to serve with Engineers or as MEDEVAC Vehicle.

I am waiting for the delivery of two different RCWS of which I will have to choose one from to be fitted - if I like both some vehicles will get option 1 and others option 2.

Cheers,
Benjamin

Hi all,

thank you for the kind words.

I had a bit of a throwback with this project, as I tried a new type of glue and during my rigorous testing one of the prototypes fell apart. It is now redone using my favourite two-component glue. Now it looks better than before - and priming has started.

However, I did not do an ARV (Bgbv 90) so far. What I did is a Command Vehicle and a General Purpose Carrier.

Cheers,
Benjamin

Moin,

further progress was made with my CV90 project.
No photos of the primed CV90 Armadillo in the command configuration (so far) but a photo of the current command version (which will get the Samson RCWS), the basic version which will receive further upgrades depending on the assigned role and two more CV9030N in the making.

Happy New Year CV90 fans!

This time I post the original and not the trimmed version of the photo showing my CV90 quartet, as the orginal is visible while the trimmed version keeps being a link. I have no idea why...
The photo is rather big but the size of the photo file is not that huge so it shouldn't be a too big problem.

However what you see are the second version of my CV90 Armadillo, the third version of it (which is an alteration of the original Command version), a CV9030NF1 and a CV90105.

Hello all,

this time my trimmed photos worked. I did remove the oversized photo of my last post and replaced it with a link to it. Here you go with the most recent one from my CV90 fleet:

Image

1st. row:
Three different versions of the CV90 Armadillo AMPV, from left to right:
CV90 AMPV-C (Command), original version
CV90 AMPV-C (Command), second version
CV90 AMPV-AMB (Ambulance)

2nd. row:
four CV9030NF1 AIFVs and two CV90105 Light Tanks

background:
five more CV9030NF1 AIFVs

Image

Parts for two CV90 AMPV-R (ARV) and two CV90 AMPV-ENG (Engineer), I still need some more spares to get these finished.

Hopefully I can give some of you a bit of inspiration.

Kind regards,
Benjamin
