Terrain Maker Question

Post by Carl67 »

Anybody out there!!!

How do you go about making a rice paddy in Vietnam with the Terrain Maker system?

If you have any pictures to illustrate that would be great.

Hi all ! :)

for 1ComOpsCtr :
Thanks for the link :D
It's a great site with many good products for wargamers like us.
I'll take few references to test the quality.
Palm trees are good to complete those I have already made.
Their trees are beautiful and many of their building too ! :D

for Carl67 :
I don't use Terrain Maker systeme for my terrain, so sorry, I can't help you :(

To all :
Thank you for your reply :D
Pibber.

John,

Your stuff is pretty damned good too man! Tell me.... what did you use to make the rotor discs from? I want to do something similar for my 15mm/1:100 scale choppers.

Todd,
Thanks. The rotors are the usual plastic disk with triangle or pie shapes cut out to give the effect of spinning. The first rotor that is cut out should be used as a template for others.

John,

Thanks. Are the discs pre-made? Or did you cut them from something?

Actually both. Years ago GHQ used to supply the chopper models with the clear plastic disk. When I ran out of those I purchased a circle cutter from Michaels craft store. So whenever you purchase "things" in clear plastic save the plastic for rotors...

Anything New

Post by Carl67 »

Pibber

In the past you have delighted us with some spectacular images of your riverine theme.

Anything new in the way of scenary, scratchbuilding etc. How about those new M48's from GHQ. Maybe you can work those into one of your Scenes.

I'm starting to paint my Nam Air Cav figures and am having a difficult time finding the right green color to replicate Nam era jungle fatigues. Every shade of OD I have is either too gray or too bright of a green and just doesn't look right, even at a distance. I am not too picky as to brand or whether it is acrylic or enamel. What is out there that works?

For mine I spray paint model master medium green, then light brush on Model master SAC bomber green. This SAC bomber green is a great shade of somewhat faded OD green.Helmut is Valejo US uniform green with field drab camo. Web gear can be all different shades of OD.
