Great stuff man! So much character for such small models.

Do you also game with them or do you just set them up and look at them all day (which would be just as satisfying I guess)?

Hi Rutgervanm ! :D

For the moment, I 'm just about to constitute armies.
I'll play with them, when my terrain will be finishing. This is my big project !
Without terrain, no game !
The game I project to do is 1:1 (!) with a personnal french rule. I work with "Kampfgruppe" on the rule.

Vietnam units I ever possed :
- Riverine force and supply ships (task force 116) & task force 117 (PBR MkII)
- Riverine Medium boat company (LCM-8)
- 3/34th artillery (105mm) on riverine's barges (not finished)
- one US infantry bataillon (with one HQ company, Four infantry company, one heavy weapons company) (Btn not finished)
- one Vietcong company
- one, maybe two, NVA bataillon (not finished)
- one Armored Cav troop (11thCav)
- one LVT Btn (I wait for GHQ making LVTP5 engineer & LVTP5 HQ to complete my Btn.
- Few advanced tactical bases on barges for Riverine forces (nearly finished)
- Two ground artillery fire support bases (not yet create)
- Two spécial forces bases (size : one small & one medium)
- Air Cav (20 bell Huey - 8 Bell gunship) + 8 Chinook
- South Vietnam Navy (not finished)
- natives junke & sampans (not finished)
- nam farms
- rice paddles, hamlets, villages & one small town near a river (not yet create)
- River & river banks for my terrain (not finished)
- Trees & palm trees (not finished)
- Close air support (Skyraider, Phantom, helico, ....) (not finished)

As you see, this is a very, very, very big project ! with a lot of, a lot of a work !
Photos will comes next weeks and ... next months.... :)
Pibber.

Excellent stuff. I am waiting right now for my M-48A3s to arrive so I can bring them up to speed. The local game shop has very little in the way of Vietnam gaming going on, and I find it very interesting that my little GHQ troops attract lots of attention every time I have a game layed on. The larger scales that can be seen from across the room never seem to get as much attention to the game they are in, but everyone has to come over and look closely to see what I'm running. Photos I posted to the Piquet gamers Yahoo group were mistaken as 15mm troops, so lots of folks are surprised when they see how much detail is available. I also learned from Pibber's pics to use the US summer WW2 artillery crew figures with my stuff. Having crew figures of some sort just adds so much to the overall look. Mounting a spare 50 cal externally on top of the cupolas on the M-48s will add tremendously. Thanks for the inspirational work.

Great Job on the M48 and M113.

I am currently building a Vietnam force myself. I have yet to build an Air Cav unit but I do have a small contingent of American and VC to create some small battles. The material that Pibber provides creates a great inspiration to get my units complete and to try a Vietnam scenario at my local gaming hang out here in Cleveland

All vehicules are from GHQ (of course !).
Bunkers and watch tower are from GHQ and an another company.
(There's a lot of scratchbuild bunker : they are made from personnal modification)
Sand walls are from GHQ.
Hex bases are self made in MDF (in France we call it "medium")

This FSB is not finishing yet.
I hope new photos of the finish model will come soon this month...

Long life to GHQ ! :D

My God Pibber - that is truly incredible! There is so much attention to detail I don't know where to begin. Even putting the block and tackle and cables on the engineer vehicles.

The research and time and effort required to pull off this incredible scene that you put before us is well worth it and much appreciated. All of your work shows such dedication and passion for what you do.

C'est magnifique! - there's my two years of French in junior high for you.

WOW!!!

I love the work once again. It gives me inspiration and makes me want to start painting. But I know I would just be disappointed on my paint job if I started to paint when compared to your work.

Pibber

I am in shock.

I am ripping open my unpainted GHQ vietnam packs as I type! (yes I am multi-tasking and I know that is impossible to do). But everytime I see your Vietnam stuff I go crazy.

Keep up the great work --- Happy New Year--- and its good to hear from you!!!!
