From every source I've seen it's actually based on a 1942/3 Wehrmacht project to design an easier/faster to produce helmet.whoa Mohamed wrote:Red
I checked they are quite different .
The design was rejected all the way up to "the top" at the time for various reasons.
If you check some of the german helmet sites on the web, you should be able to find it...
It's said the DDR wanted a design of german origin, not too dis-similar to other east block helmets, and wouldn't be confused with the wartime ones used by BGS troops, and they feared by a new BW.
And the russians didn't want them using the WW2 design either...

I believe that is the standard TEL arrangement right?Brutzel wrote:a new one...
THAAD on a HEMTT
(Terminal High Altitude Area Defense)
THAAD has a large number of associated vehicles besides the TEL,
Many would want at least one of each associated Radar & the different C&C vehicles.
I don't know the ins and out of the THAAD system but there has to be at least one trailer with the radar & it seems like three or four large trailers with necessary equipment.
In most of the pictures I see there are usually a few HMWWV with a large shell on the bed. Most would probably be OK using the M1037 HMMWV (GHQ Stock # N80) to stand in despite the fact that the shell over the beds of the actual vehicles appear to overhand the cab unlike the M1037 figures.
So maybe the solution would be two separate Packs, one with TEL's only and one with the support equipment & maybe one TEL if it even fits!

Items for next release skd
I would truly love to see the following items.
Smialy - Polish Armored Train no. 53 perhaps as a combat command.
Traction Avante Staff Car used by German forces throughout the war
German Ford Trucks
German Infantry in Greatcoats
US Infantry in Greatcoats
M1917 30 Cal water cooled MG
Japanese Type 89 MBT used extensively throughout WWII and probably the most common Japanese Tank during their offensive era
PMSkaar suggested ( I think ) French Halftracks in German service (21st Panzer Division) in Normandy 1944. Those would be very cool.

I've put some ideas down before with more modern Chinese and an expansion of "Arab Spring" infantry and heavy weapons.
However I think North Korean and South Korean equipment would be of great interest as well. North Korea makes some crazy equipment and it frankly looks great with the Chona'ma Ho and Pokpung-Ho tanks, the various AA pieces and the artillery types.
Another area of interest is Cuba and all it's different blends of vehicle types.

I do not usually post to these "things I want to see" threads because I'm really sure of we are talking to GHQ or just talking to each other ...
... but just in case GHQ is monitoring this, here are two very easy ones for you that would be variants of models you already make (minor mods that would make a huge difference).
F-16 E/F and/or Israeli "I" model, all with conformal fuel tanks. This would be a great update to your awesome but aging F-16 model
Along the same lines...
F-15 E with FAST Packs (conformal fuel and sensor packs),,, again a great refresh of the F-15A model you offer.
Both of these would work for Israel and other others.

Sincere question, would you rather see those variants before filling yawning gaps in modern combat aircraft like F-111 and Su-27 to mention but a couple? I prefer filing gaps myself.

Not necessarily. I'd just like to see them and I think they could be done easily since the base models already exist. As a manufacturer myself, I can see where a simple modification to an existing product to create a "new" product would be preferable to staring from scratch on something else and could be brought to market easily and quickly.RedDragon wrote:

The F-15 that GHQ makes is a great miniature, but it's an "A" model, an airplane from the 1970's. Anyone playing modern games would have no use for it. An "E" model would be nice for modern gamers. Same goes for the F-16, a great model ... but not really usable for modern combat unless you just want to pretend it's a newer model.
They do this all the time with their armor; there is an M1, an M1A1, an M1A2, and an M1A2 TUSK ... they don't stop after the first version, they keep going. I would not expect every version of every plane ... but an update on a few would be very cool in my opinion.
The Su-27 would be awesome. Regarding the F-111, I think the only nation on earth flying them is Australia, so that's probably not a big market.... but still would be cool too.

Allen,
I follow. I don't really know much about the molding & casting process but I figured they would need to make new molds to make such aircraft variants since presumably the airframe changed slightly as opposed to smaller changes like a new turret or plow.
I am not an aircraft buff so most F-15s & F-16s look alike to me, especially at this scale. Conformal tanks would show at this scale I guess, so maybe the Strike Eagle would be a candidate.
As for the F-111 I don't know how the "modern" GHQ people break down between Cold War & post-Cold War interests. I would venture there's probably a decent market for it though.
May all our wishes come true
