I'd bought the brass etched fencing in the background few years ago in a railway models shop.
Unfortunately, I threw the package, so I can't give you the product brand.
I remember it was a photo etched plank at "Z" scale for trains dioramas. There were several differents gates, fences and portals park on a small photoetched part.
Have a look on "Z" trains models shop's websites, maybe you can find something identical...

But not perfect to me, so I'm waiting for GHQ'one.

As we are planning a Sword Beach 1:1 Diorama for 2014 on our Hamburg Wargaming convention we desperately need:
- Universal Carriers with deep wading equipment
- SBG Churchill
- Bobbin carpet layer Churchill
- Armoured Dozers
- Crusader AA Mk.III (the twin 20mm version)
Although I asked GHQ for a little support (not financially but by producing at least some from this wish list) I never got an answer. I call myself a good customer, although I bought most of my stuff from my local retailer. Anyway - a short note, that they don't have the manpower to do this, would be at least polite (I wrote three e-mails to them and one to the Admin of this forum).
No answer is rude! There is a one-man-production-company in the UK who is supporting me by producing a BARV and LCTs. In Germany I am supported by a company who is producing buildings from the landing zone and Quistreham.
Without this help we could not work on that enterprise.

While I sympathize with your position I feel compelled to question your stance... a quick scan of the threads here will show that the management of GHQ are constantly bombarded with wish lists, and of all the manufacturers at this scale are clearly the most prolific. The company is a business, and what they produce must be what they think will sell, and sell for around 10 years given the life of an average mold. I have models that were first made in the 1970's and are still very good. So, in that case, I feel you are asking a bit much.
Further, if you have someone making a BARV for you, will it be to the same standard as GHQ? If so, I can guarantee there will be interest from others here. If not, then have you checked other manufacturers? I have an armoured dozer from Heroics and Ros. I also have Crusader AA MkIII of a very acceptable standard by taking GHQ Crusader hulls and installing Heroics and Ros AA turrets. If you want to clean them up further than they come, I'd suggest replacing the barrels of the 20mm, but they aren't bad as is.

Further, there have been some amazing modifications of the SBG and Bobbin on recent threads, and I'm certain the 'how' would be shared... given that you have about 18 months, I might suggest you get your hands 'dirty' and make what you need. There is plenty of freely given assistance on this site.
I'm confident that you could achieve what you seek within the timeframe with the materials already available.

Am I really asking too much? There are Churchill, Universal Carriers and Crusaders already! These models exist! The only work is to add deep wading equipment to the Carriers, a new turret for the AA Crusader and the equipment for the Churchill funnies.

Given the fact, that there is a soviet bridgelayer of which only two models existed (operational use is very questionable), there is the Sherman Accessories set, which contains, except from the dozer blade, stuff which had seen not much combat use. There are many more examples of which I think they wouldn't sell that well.
But you didn't get the point - I never bothered GHQ with lists. That's why I asked GHQ directly not on this forum. After thousands of dollars spend for their products and an upcoming prestige project which also helps to promote 1/285 scale (and who is the biggest producer of that scale?), I thought some help would be nice. I also read in a Wargames magazine, that they supported an 10mm ACW Project in the US, so why not supporting us?
But they didn't even care to answer my mails. That is the point!
And to your proposal:

I have to build a complete assault wave. Can you imagine how many landing craft and vehicles these are? Every vehicle will be equipped with what these vehicles carried with them on D-Day. I am very happy that there is a company in England which is producing this stuff so I do not have to make with green stuff by myself - but it is time consuming anyway.
I have to paint the stuff to an acceptable standard. We have to build a table which is three meters wide and I do not know yet how deep because we want to show the link to Pegasus Bridge as well.
I have a job and I have a family and I would have been glad if the company, I supported for so many years, by buying 90% of their stuff, could at least react to my answer - negative or positive.
But they didn't.
I think I made my point very clear.

I can see from your website that you are a very active modeler and promoter of miniature wargaming, thank you for that. Your groups' work is very good looking.
I would only add to this that from my understanding, GHQ plans out the models they are going to sculpt or re-sculpt in the late spring of each year and they post their decision in this forum for all to see. In a brief post titled "WW2 stats for those of us with wishlists and product ideas" I showed that in the past 3 years GHQ produced about 50 new military models each year. In those years and of those 50, between 8 to 16 actual models were WW2 1/285th scale product (& I don't count W'47models). This averages out to be about 1 a month.
I mean no disrespect in my next comments but I think you might be better off trying a post asking for some forum members help in modeling or converting models for you, in the time you have, rather than the tack you seem to be pursuing. I don't think you'll get much sympathy with comments about this vendor's production schedule. We all have our own ideas about what would be 'really nice to have'. As I've shown above this resource is very limited and a quick scan of the forums for 'wish lsits' will show our demand far exceeds their supply. And we all have our reasons.
If what you write is true, that no one from GHQ responded to you, I'd agree that it would have been nice to get something back from them, even if it was a polite 'no'. If I were in your shoes, I'd probably pick up the phone, as previously suggested. Or I'd privately ask Pibber, and or some of the other gifted modelers that post here, if they'd be interested and willing to help with the project.

I'm surprised to hear that as well. Whenever I ordered we would end up talking for a while as it turned out that he grew up the next township over from me. I would give him an update of all the substantial changes going on. Although I understand he did get back here now and then when he could. Small world!!
